GaneshK, Its to bring to your notice that In the Page Mahishya Mr. Biplab K M has used some names as notable members of his community those who actually belong to other community like S Dev- Burman or our famous SD( Sachin Dev Burman) father of RD who actually belong to Rajbongshi Royal Family .You can enquire of it.Every person of Rajbongshi comminity of North-Bengal and Tripura knows this another is Jogendra Nath Mondal who beolngs to Namasudra ( erlier chandal & recent namassej
- proposed) ; there is every proof of that like where he was born ,family ,village ,school etc. :it
was brought to his notice as every gentleman should do.He referred to his talk page for his Information and communicated to you for locking the page.I think he is malpracticing with Wikippedia for some vested interest .Please advice what could be done for such immoral attitude.

Village lists
HI see User talk:Maheshkumaryadav. This editor is creating lists of villages but they are very scruffy in capital letters. His lists are nominated for deletion. Personally I think they'd be best merged into the district/ tehsil articles and columnized. Dr. Blofeld 10:51, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Dear Ganesh,
Is there anyway to list the pages i am watching (all) same like todo tab (automatically list, when i am clicking the star) and i will put the name as monitoring--Kalarickan (talk) 12:45, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Many thanks for the info..
- Multi-project watchlists
A standard watchlist covers only one Wikimedia project (so your English Wikipedia watchlist can contain only pages on English Wikipedia). However, there is a multi-wiki watchlist available at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~luxo/gwatch/ that will allow you to simultaneously display changes to watched pages on as many Wikimedia projects as you want.
- Please advice how to configure this, I have created a New login with my name and a different password(not the same in wiki) but it is not listing anything...please advice how i can add - Kalarickan (talk) 20:39, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Well the concerning thing is that edits like the one you identified will have people thinking it is another account run by me like Yellow Monkey has with Assessment monkey. By all means report it. Somebody else thought it was me too. That needs to be set straight. Dr. Blofeld 12:23, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Creating village articles using AWB?
The recent run of articles like Rokkadakatti (in which I have participated, I have to say) has gotten me thinking; do you think there would be complaint if I began filling in templates such as this one using AWB? It's not difficult - I can create the redlinked articles using Rokkadakatti as a template. It would fill out those settlement templates, and it would make life easier for a lot of people by eliminating a ton of manual work.
What do you think? Would it fly? I'm going to be unavailable for a bit starting early next week, but I'd be happy to do them upon my return. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 14:25, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

- Think a bot would fly? If so, I can go ahead and put in the request upon my return. It would save WP:INDIA a lot of work. Sorry to be brief, but this is a hotel computer, and (following in the tradition of Georges Perec) the punctuation keys are unfamiliar to me, so I have to find a few workarounds, for the sake of my sanity. No idea how to sign this, even...let the bot do it for me.

I hope we can continue to work with you, even when we are not using your excellent bot. And I hope it will not be too terribly long until we can use the bot again. A question
Ganesh, I would like to make sure we have genus articles for all our species articles; I know that some that were hand-generated are missing a genus article. Is it perhaps possible to write the software to generate a list of species articles which currently have just a red link in the genus field of the taxobox? Or is that not possible? Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 13:31, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Questions about the Portal
Hi Ganesh, Recently I have been trying to improve the Gastropod Portal a bit. I do not understand the underlying structure of it very well, having not worked on it very much before. A couple of days ago I added in one more biography and one more regular article, and intend to add two more images soon, but I do not know what I need to do in order to make sure each of these things is randomly selected (or selected in sequence) so it is different every time you go to the page, which is how it works for the ones that were preivously in there. I also wanted to ask you if there is a way that the Did You Know section can be set up so that we can have it display say 6 or 8 of them at any given time (random is fine or in sequence is fine) rather than showing all 50-something of them at once. Do you know how that could be done? Thanks again Ganesh, Invertzoo (talk) 19:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah! Thank you so many times for explaining all that to me, and bless you for fixing the sections up in order to make it much easier for anyone to add material to them! Wonderful! Invertzoo (talk) 02:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
OK Ganesh, one more question. How do I change the "Did you know?" random select setting so that it will show only 5 at a time? Can you explain that to me? Many thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 15:28, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Many thanks for all your very valuable help with this Portal! Invertzoo (talk) 22:44, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Questions about the Portal icon
Hi Ganesh, I don't know much about code, so can you tell me how to put the (new) gastropod portal icon image into the Template:WikiProject Gastropods? Currently that template is just showing the generic symbol for portals, the jigsaw piece with the keyhole. Also, are we supposed to create a subpage somewhere with the portal icon in a box with the name of the portal so that thing can be transcluded onto other pages? Please excuse me if these are dumb questions! Invertzoo (talk) 22:42, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I just now found the instructions! let me have a go at doing it myself. I will ask you if I run into any difficulties. Invertzoo (talk) 23:00, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Well, I started by putting the image name in a new page Template:Portal/Images/Gastropods. It worked. Then I tried using another different image. Invertzoo (talk) 00:57, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!
Hi again Ganesh, Thanks for coming in to the Portal after me and doing a bunch of clean up! I was working on it late in the evening and putting that new box in was a bit of a struggle for me. Is there anywhere where I can learn more about the code in general? I would like to, instead of just trying to guess what does what. Anyway, many thanks for your help, Invertzoo (talk) 13:59, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks Ganesh for your kind words and for the recommendations. Yes, I discovered the Help:Wiki markup help page not long after I left that message for you, but I had not looked at the Help:Template page, or the page on Transclusion. These pages are certainly better than nothing at all, but generally speaking I have to say that I find that the great majority of help pages on Wikipedia are very poorly thought out as teaching tools, and have almost no real explanations, and as a result they are extremely hard to read and understand (unless youalready have some degree of working familiarity with the subject in question). That's why I usually just go ahead and wing it, and copy and paste someone else's example of what I am trying to do, and then fix it up the way I want it. That works quite well most of the time, but when you have to work with something like the portal template, where there areso many lines of markup of various kinds, well I find myself wishing I could read and understand the markup rather than it looking more or less like obscure ancient hieroglyphics to me!
- I usually tell brand new editors: don't bother struggling to understand the Wikipedia help pages, just copy from another article the things you want to do. When I was new I started a MicrosoftWord document and put in it all the little things that I wanted to remember how to do. I still refer to it sometimes.
- Thanks so much for the two new suggestions, I would not have found them myself, at least not for quite a while I imagine. I took a very quick look at them both and they look better, so thanks once again! Invertzoo (talk) 23:52, 20 November 2010 (UTC)

Question on the Portal
Hi Ganesh, the Portal box seems to have lost the ability to be compressed in width any narrower than a certain amount (6.5 inches on my monitor) whereas before it could be made much more narrow as necessary. Do you know why that is? Do you know if we can fix that? Thanks, Invertzoo (talk) 15:02, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Strangely, despite your fix, in my case the Portal still won't compress narrower than 6.5 inches. Invertzoo (talk) 18:15, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
And also the second image that was previously in the bio of Haeckel displayed fine on my monitor. Invertzoo (talk) 18:15, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
