- Southern Methodist University Athletics → SMU Mustangs — Matching the naming standard for collegiate athletics teams; namely, the institution's shortened name and the team's nickname. —fuzzy510 19:10, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Contest If the main article is at Southern Methodist University, the daughter articles should be at "Southern Methodist University X." -Justin (koavf)·T·C·M 19:12, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Why, exactly? If the university's athletic department itself makes no references to the school as Southern Methodist University in the athletic realm, not only is it unnecessary to use the full name, but it's incorrect to do so. --fuzzy510 01:44, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Brief Year-By-Year History
editYikes - "brief"? This is ridiculously long, and a mixture of prose and timeline. I'd recommend deleting the entire thing, and anything worth including can be added back in to the appropriate section. This is a mess. SixFourThree (talk) 18:44, 28 April 2008 (UTC)SixFourThree
National Titles in 1981 and 1982?
editThese are not recognized national titles, if this were the case, teams like Miami and Nebraska could claim about a dozen more titles than they actually have. Therefore I'm removing them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.13.76.17 (talk) 17:56, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
