Chase's parents divorced when he was 4 years old.[4] He then moved with his mother to Canton, a suburb of Atlanta[5] and later to Orlando, Florida as a teenager where he attended Timber Creek High School.[6] He received his bachelor's degree at Valencia College and then went to University of Central Florida and Seminole State College.[7] Growing up, he aspired to become a professional ice hockey player.[8]
Career
editChase Stokes had small roles in television at the beginning of his acting career, including Stranger Things, Daytime Divas, and Tell Me Your Secrets.[9] He originally turned down an offer to audition for Outer Banks in February 2019, before reading for the role of Topper and later John B.[10] The first season of the show was released on April 15, 2020, a second season was announced July 2020,[11] and released in July 2021. The third and fourth seasons were released in February 2023 and November 2024 respectively, with a fifth and final season being announced for 2025.[12]

In October 2021, Stokes was cast in Uglies, a dystopian fantasy film based on the novel by Scott Westerfeld.[14] The film will be released by Netflix and it wrapped production in December 2021.[15] In June 2022, it was announced that Stokes was cast in the film Music Got Me Here, based on the life of music therapist Tom Sweitzer.[16]
In August 2022, it was announced that Stokes would star in the military thriller film Valiant One.[17] The film wrapped production in late October 2022.[18] In January 2023, it was announced that he had been cast in Marked Men, a young-adult romance film based on the book Rule by Jay Crownover. He will play the lead male role of Rule Archer.[19] The film wrapped production in late 2022.[20] The film is set to be released in theaters on January 22, 2025.[21]
Personal life
editIn June 2020, Stokes announced that he was in a relationship with his Outer Banks co-star Madelyn Cline.[22] The couple split in October 2021.[23] He and country singer Kelsea Ballerini have been dating since January 2023.[24]
Stokes says the quality he looks for most in a person is someone who can make him laugh. He says he suffers from Imposter Syndrome.[25]
