Serrat targets a giant cacodemon as it charges a projectile.

The giant cacodemon is a monster in Doom: The Dark Ages. A huge variant of the cacodemon hybrid, these Titan-class monsters are found in the Cosmic Realm and are a product of its corrupting magic.

Tactical analysis

Giant cacodemons are only fought while riding Serrat. They attack by charging a fast-moving green projectile which requires good timing to dodge. After firing a projectile the cacodemon may dash to one side to avoid Serrat's cannon.

Lore

Like the smaller cacodemon hybrid, the giant cacodemon is a fusion of Hell's sphere beast with the horrors conjured by the Witch. Said to drift on unseen wings, they slowly grow as they devour. It is said that eventually they would swell large enough to devour entire worlds.

In the Xbox Developer Direct showcase, a giant cacodemon appeared in footage of Serrat's gameplay in The Holy City of Aratum, although it does not appear in this level in the final game. This version also differs from the release in that it does not have long tentacles with blades, has a silver and gold colour scheme, and releases blue orbs from its mouth.
