A custom vault can screen anyone claiming a key through its redeem link. The questions and the eligibility rule work exactly like they do on a playtest, so Screening players is the full reference. This page covers only what vaults do differently.

Only custom vaults screen

A system vault hands keys to players the playtest already admitted, so it has nothing to screen and no front door of its own. A custom vault distributes through a public link, so it gets both: onboarding, where a recipient connects the identities you require and reads whatever you want them to read, and screening, where they answer your questions.

Turning it on

Screening is an explicit setting. Open the vault’s About tab, click Player Screening, and set it to Enabled. The card reads back Recipients answer questions to claim when it is on, and One-click redeem when it is off. Questions freeze when the vault leaves draft. The eligibility rule locks once you publish, and so does the setting itself: to change it on a live vault, unpublish first.

Verdicts

Vault screening records a verdict and nothing else: a recipient is either Eligible or Ineligible. The In Progress and Completed statuses you see on a playtest track a session, and claiming a key has no session. Read the verdicts, the eligibility funnel, and per-question answers in the vault’s analytics, once it is published.
Keys you assign straight to a player, or to every member of a group, skip screening entirely. There is no link and no claim step for them to pass through.

Redeem links

Publish the vault, share the link, and write the screen behind it.
