MCP server
Let AI clients read environment metadata and draft changes without seeing secret values.
The Stashbase MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, and other MCP clients work with your projects and environments. Agents can read environment metadata, analyze secret usage, and draft changes. MCP tools never return secret values.
This page covers the Stashbase MCP server. To control which tools an agent can call on other MCP servers, see HTTP MCP servers.
Endpoint
https://api.stashbase.dev/mcpAuthentication
Authenticate with an API key using the Authorization header and the Bearer scheme.
You can use:
- personal API keys
- service API keys
Create and manage API keys in the Stashbase dashboard. Give the key only the access the client needs, and set an expiration date.
When the MCP client is a coding agent, run it with stashbase agent run and bind the API key in the agent profile with an mcp_servers entry. The agent then gets a placeholder instead of the key itself.
