The Backlinks API is in private beta and will be released later this year.
This API will allow developers to retrieve the most recent, or most shared backlinks to a specific URL or domain, for any time period.
The rate limit for the backlinks API is 3 calls in a 10 second window which is less than the rate limit for the Search API and the Media Monitoring API.
If you exceed this we will return a 429 HTTP code (Too Many Requests).

- SEO Reporting - Whether you do work for clients, or are an in-house marketer, our API allows you retrieve backlink metrics for URLs/websites you are responsible for so you can create weekly/monthly reports
- Data for Marketing Tools - If you're building a SEO product, you might want to supplement your data with backlinks data.
- Automate Link building - Our API allows you to automate certain steps of link building, such as creating prospecting lists.
- Corporate Development/Partnerships/Investors - Our backlink metrics can help filter down lists of prospective acquisitions, partnerships, or investments.
