This section describes how merchants can test Surcharge in the Computop test environment.

The surcharge test setup allows merchants to simulate card transactions and to verify:

  • Surcharge eligibility
  • Surcharge quote retrieval
  • Correct presentation of surcharge fees

Prerequisites

Before testing Surcharge, ensure that:

  • Surcharge is enabled for your merchant profile in the test environment
  • Card payments are enabled for your merchant
  • You are using the Computop test system

Test Surcharge services

To test surcharge behavior in the Computop test environment and receive valid surcharge quotes, use the card BINs and card numbers listed below. They are mapped to specific merchant currencies. For convenience, example Luhn-valid test card numbers are provided below to allow deterministic surcharge testing.

The card numbers listed are synthetic test card numbers for use in the test environment only. They are not associated with real cardholders or live issuer systems and must never be used in production. They are not usable for further 3DS challenges. Merchants may also generate their own test card numbers using the listed BINs and the Luhn algorithm.

Notice: Successful retrieval of a surcharge quote does not guarantee authorization approval. Authorization outcomes depend on acquirer test setup and card acceptance rules and are evaluated independently from surcharge processing.
