I'm Alberto Gallego, and I build Cozy on my own.
I've kept a journal since 2019. I built Cozy because I wanted a private place to write, not another app quietly collecting what I put into it. Everything you write stays on your own device, as plain files in a folder you choose. There's no server, no account, and no AI reading over your shoulder.
Cozy is a one-time $49 purchase with no subscription, and it covers every Mac, Windows PC, iPhone and iPad you own. The phone app is its own app rather than a shrunken desktop one. That includes a year of updates; after that your version keeps working forever, exactly as it is. If you'd rather never think about it again, Cozy Forever is $89 once and includes every future version for life.
The company
Cozy is made by Cantimplora Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company with registered address at 30 N Gould St, Suite R, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA. It's the company name on the invoice; behind it, it's still just me. You can see what else I'm working on at albertogalca.com.
Getting in touch
Email [email protected] and you'll get me, not a support desk. Bug reports, feature ideas, and "this thing annoys me" messages are all welcome.
If you're a student or teach, verify your school email and you get 40% off. And if the price is steep where you live, checkout adjusts it for your country on its own. You'll see the local price before you pay.
I also write about what I'm building and the choices behind it on the blog. If you have a question about Cozy, the contact page reaches me directly.
