API Reference

Two regions. Your API key says which one to call.

EU, Frankfurt

https://eu.api.complyedge.io

Key starts with ce_eu_. Use it when your contracts or customers want data kept in the EU. Preselected at sign-up.

US, Oregon

https://api.complyedge.io

Key starts with ce_. Use it when your contracts or customers want data kept in the US.

You choose the region when you create your free API key: the sign-up form asks where your data is stored, EU or US. The SDK reads the key and calls the right host. With curl or your own client, call the host of your key's region; a key sent to the other region is rejected. The region is where your prompts and audit records are processed and stored. It does not change which laws are checked: the jurisdiction field on each check does. No general law requires either region. US law does not require US storage, and GDPR allows transfers outside the EU with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses (Chapter V). The examples below use the EU host; with a US key, use api.complyedge.io instead.

Every check names its jurisdiction; the loaded rule bundle today runs EU AI Act rules (Article 5 and related), prompt-injection rules and, for US end users, SOX §302, and the same call shape carries other jurisdictions as their rule sets ship.

Authentication

Authenticated endpoints expect a Bearer token in the Authorization header (API key or, where noted, a dashboard JWT session):

Authorization: Bearer ce_live_your_api_key

No auth: GET /health, GET /v1/public/trust/{slug}, and GET /v1/public/badge/{slug}.svg.

Don't have a key yet? Sign in to the dashboard (free, email OTP).
