CoGM Logger

Record your Black Desert node wars and sieges on your PC. Every kill goes to your guild's CoGM event log: who killed whom, from which guild, and where on the map. It also reads your guild's war score and your Guild League matches.

The logger runs on a Windows PC. Send yourself the link, or grab it here:

  • Windows 10 or 11
  • Free for every guild
  • Updates itself
Kill map of one siege: thousands of kills plotted on the Black Desert world map, green for your guild and red for the enemy
5,198 kills from one siege, recorded by the logger. Green is your guild, red is the enemy.

What your guild gets

Upload a war and CoGM parses and scores it. Nobody types anything in.

  • Every kill and death

A full kill feed with K/D per player for your guild, your allies and every enemy guild.

  • Kills on the map

Each kill lands where it happened, with a heatmap across wars and a timeline you can replay.

  • Recaps in your Discord

War recaps and scoreboards post to your server, plus guild-vs-guild history over time.

  • Classes and performance

Class breakdowns, capped and uncapped detection, and each player's form across wars.

  • War score

Exact numbers from the game's war results, plus the class and spec of everyone in your guild who fought.

  • Guild League, on Pro

Your matches, season record and the standings, sent to your guild's Guild League section.

Your war, live in game

On Pro, the overlay draws over Black Desert while you record: your kills and deaths, your guild's numbers, the guilds you fight, who to call out, and how many of each enemy guild are back on their feet. Drag or hide each panel. Once locked it's click-through, and it never touches the game client.

Set it up

About ten minutes the first time. You only do steps 1 to 6 once.

  1. Download it

Click Download for Windows. The app is not code-signed yet, so your browser may hold the file as unknown or uncommon. In Chrome, choose Keep. In Edge, open the menu next to the download, choose Keep, then Keep anyway.

  2. Get past the Windows warning

When you open the file, Windows may say Windows protected your PC. Click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this because the app is new and not signed yet.

  3. Run the installer

Run cogm-logger-installer.exe and click Yes when Windows asks to allow changes. The installer checks for Npcap, the free Windows driver the logger needs to read the game. Have it already? Nothing to do. If it is missing, the installer downloads it from npcap.com and opens the Npcap setup:

    1. Click I Agree.
    2. Keep Install Npcap in WinPcap API-compatible Mode ticked.
    3. Leave Restrict Npcap driver's access to Administrators only unticked.
    4. Click Install. When it is done, click Next, then Finish.

No internet, or the Npcap download failed? Get Npcap from npcap.com, install it with the same two settings, then open the logger.

  4. Or use the portable .zip

Unzip it to any folder and run cogm-logger-win_x64.exe. The .zip does not install Npcap, so install it from npcap.com first, with the same two settings.

  5. Get your guild's token

An officer opens your guild's Settings, then PvP Analytics, and clicks Generate Token under CoGM Logger. Each guild has one token, shared by everyone who records for it, so wars land in the right event log. CoGM shows it once, so copy it then. If the guild already has a token, get it from whoever set it up: Regenerate replaces it for everyone.

    Open token settings
  6. Paste it into the logger

In the logger, click Settings, then CoGM account. Paste the token into Logger token and click Verify. It says Token accepted and names the guild your wars go to. Then type your Family name, so the logger can mark your own kills. The token stays saved through updates.

  7. Record the war

Before the war, start Black Desert and open the logger. On Home, click Test capture and wait for Ready to record in the side menu.

Click Record now when the war starts. Or turn on Record wars automatically: the logger then starts a few minutes before each war on your guild's CoGM calendar and records until you stop it. Type a title at the top if you like. It becomes the war's name on CoGM.

  8. Stop, add the war score, upload

When the war ends, click Stop and save. The war score step reads your guild's war score: exact numbers, plus everyone's class and spec. If the results were open in game before you stopped, it is already in the recording. If not, open the Guild window, then Node/Conquest War Status, View Results and Details while the logger listens.

Click Upload war and war score. The upload asks Which war is this?: if someone in your guild already uploaded tonight's war, pick it so your kills and war score go into it. Kills it already has count once. Otherwise pick New war. Then click the upload button. If CoGM finds your kills on a war it has, it asks Is this the same war?: Add to this war or Separate fight. When it says Uploaded to CoGM, click Open on CoGM. The war also lands in PvP Events, under Event Log.

The logger's Settings, CoGM account: the Logger token field with Verify, the guild marked Connected, Your in-game guild and Family name
Step 6: the token goes in Logger token, under Settings, CoGM account.
Record during a war: the timer, a typed title, Stop and save, kills and deaths, a chart per minute and the live kill feed
Step 7: the title you type is the war's name on CoGM.
The war score step after Stop: the four in-game steps, and War score captured with 15 players, each with class and spec
Step 8: the war score step, with the class and spec of everyone in your guild who fought.

Npcap

Npcap is the Windows network driver the logger uses to read the combat messages your game receives. Its license doesn't let us ship it inside our installer, so setup fetches the official copy from npcap.com.

No kills showing while you record?

Npcap is missing or was installed without the setting the logger needs. Install it yourself:

  1. Download the installer from npcap.com.
  2. Run it and tick Install Npcap in WinPcap API-compatible Mode.
  3. Leave Restrict Npcap driver's access to Administrators only unticked.
  4. Restart the logger and record again.

Fix a problem

No kills appear while I record
Npcap is missing or lacks the WinPcap API-compatible setting. Reinstall it with the steps in the Npcap section above. Then start the game and click Test capture on Home.
I play through a VPN or have two network adapters
In the logger's Settings, under Capture, set Network adapters to All adapters and turn IP filter off. Then click Test capture on Home again.
The game runs on another PC
The logger reads the game's network traffic, so it has to run on the PC that runs Black Desert. Install it on that PC.
My antivirus quarantined the logger
Open your antivirus, restore the logger from quarantine and mark it as allowed. Then open the logger again.
It says No war score seen
Click Try again, then open Details while the logger listens. If Details was already open, close it and open it again.
My upload failed
CoGM did not accept your token means an officer made a new token or revoked the old one. Ask an officer for the current token, paste it in Settings, under CoGM account, and click Verify. Could not reach CoGM means the logger could not connect: check your connection and upload again from Wars. The war stays on your PC either way.
Recording shows an error
Click the button on the error: Restart capture driver, Run as administrator or Install Npcap. Then click Try again.

Questions

Is it safe for my account?
It reads the network messages your game already receives: the kills you see in chat, and the war score and Guild League screens when you open them. It doesn't read game memory, inject anything or touch your game files.
What does it cost?
The logger, war uploads and the war score are free for every guild. Pro adds Guild League matches, the in-game overlay and Shotcaller VOD, the war's audio on the war page.
Windows warned me about the download
The app is new and not signed yet, so Windows and your browser flag it. In the browser, choose Keep. If SmartScreen says it protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
A BDO patch broke it
After a patch, the logger may show New server type while CoGM works out the changed messages. That usually takes about a minute. If it can't, upload anyway: CoGM keeps the records and corrects the war once it is calibrated. Nothing to reinstall.
Do I need to update it?
No. Version 1.37 checks for a new version when it opens and installs it straight away, so Record waits until it is done. From 2.0, it checks when it opens and every few hours and downloads the update in the background. The update installs when you close the logger, or click Restart now, and never blocks a recording. If Windows asks to allow changes, click Yes. From 1.37 or older with the portable .zip? After updating, open CoGM Logger from the Start menu, delete the old portable folder and type your family name again in Settings.
The logger won't open
Start it with --mode=browser to open it in your browser instead, then tell us in the support server.

Need a hand?

Ask in the CoGM support server or read the logger docs.

Coming from Ikusa or GuildYapper?

Is the CoGM Logger an Ikusa alternative?

Yes. It is built on Ikusa Logger by sch-28 and reads the same kill messages. Ikusa Logger saves a log you upload to ikusa.site to study a war. The CoGM Logger is a Windows installer that updates itself, and it uploads each war to your guild's event log on CoGM, where the K/D, kill map and war score sit next to your roster and post to your Discord.

Can I upload my old Ikusa logs?

Yes. Upload an Ikusa .log file to a war on CoGM and CoGM reads it like a CoGM Logger recording, so your older wars sit next to the new ones.

Does CoGM work with GuildYapper?

Yes, and you can run both. GuildYapper is a Discord bot and website for Black Desert guilds. Upload a GuildYapper war file to a war on CoGM and we add its node war result as your guild's war score, with the kills when the file has them in a format we read. When you set up a Black Desert guild, CoGM can also pull your alliances from GuildYapper's tier list.
