For a short delay in payment, we were charged an additional fee. I contacted them to explain that we had not seen the email, as it had been opened by another colleague, but unfortunately they did not accept this explanation. It is quite unfortunate.

To ensure that all payments are taken into account up to the last day of the month, we grant our customers an additional three days of grace beyond the end of the month before issuing a reminder.
In this regard, we consider it fair that customers who are late in making payments contribute to the costs incurred, in the form of a flat-rate reminder fee, in accordance with the polluter-pays principle.
