No Hot Water

Melbourne Apartment Complaint
On the 19th February, I booked and paid ($1345) for 6 nights’ accommodation [ Friday 2nd May till Thursday 8th May] for the property 1/128 Alma Rd St Kilda for 4 adults and 2 children.
When we arrived on Friday afternoon, there were large wet patches on the carpet on the entry way, hall way and into the first bedroom. The entry way had been covered with a rug; probably to disguise the wet patches, and it was also wet. We photographed the patches.
On Tuesday 25th February, I emailed the "host" enquiring about parking and was informed that there was space for 2 cars.
On Friday 2nd May, I was emailed the address and code for the lock box. On Saturday morning when trying to shower, it was apparent that there was no hot water and the wet carpet was the result of the "hot" water tank leaking. I emailed the "host" to inform him/her about the wet patches and there was no apology, merely a question as to whether we'd like a plumber to come on Monday 5th May.
The plumber didn't come and consequently there was no hot water available at all for the rest of our stay. Apart from no hot water, the condition of the apartment was quite shabby and obviously poorly maintained.
* tiles missing
* the ironing board (without a cover) erected in the bath tub, presumably to act as a towel rail, as the two rails on the wall could only hold a hand towel
* a mirror missing from the bathroom cabinet
*The plaster on the bedroom wall chipped and what looked like a blood stain running down the wall
* no bedside tables or bedside reading lamps as depicted on your website
* broken blinds
*poorly repaired plaster wall in the sitting room
*cracked hand basin in the bathroom and a plug which didn't work
* no light bulb in the entry way and no spares
I have photographed all of the above and can email them to you.

I would request that at least half of our rental be refunded, as the property was most unsatisfactory and not as depicted n the website.

Perfect For A Getaway!

Great location and beautiful view! I loved the decor and the comfy atmosphere. I felt super secure with building security. You had to upload your ID before you arrive to let them know who is in the building. I love this feature, it makes me feel safe with my kids to know everyone in the building does the same! The check-in process was super simple, I just sent them a message when they arrived and the door unlocked. I can't wait to stay again on our next visit!

great stay

I recently stayed in one of Quickstays airbnbs and really loved it. The place was styled nice and was in a great neighbourhood. The team was very responsive with any questions we had. We will forsure be back!

I had an incredible stay

I had an incredible stay with QuickStay! The condo was right downtown, close to all Toronto's must-sees. I checked in by sending a text message to unlock the door, which was quick and easy. Every question I had was answered almost immediately. If I come back to the city, I'll book with them again.

This company was a DISASTER from the…

This company was a DISASTER from the beginning. They apparently manage property for owners in various cities and advertise across usual sites: hotels.com, expedia, vrbo, etc.

I booked a 1BR in Toronto. From the beginning, the problems started. They have a utterly useless "check-in" system where they request information already provided in booking and also want you to upload ID...which would not work no matter what I tried. Next, they want your credit card AGAIN to place a deposit charge on the card. Again, did not work.

Next, I get a threatening and condescending email from them warning me of what will happen if I don't follow the rules. Here it is, word for word:

"The number of people on the reservation is 1, is this accurate? It is extremely important to clarify that WE STRICTLY DO NOT ALLOW ANY PARTIES, GATHERINGS OR OUTSIDE GUESTS WHATSOEVER - not overnight, not for dinner, not for pre-drinks, not to meet up, not to get ready, not for a little bit, not at all. I just don't want there to be any misunderstandings. There will be a minimum $750 claim applied for violating this.

We've had a recent issue with guests, which resulted in multiple noise complaints and fines (both to us and to the guest), and we were very clearly instructed that any future violation will result in an immediate police call, guest evacuation, and an additional $500 fine. I'm sharing this so that you understand that if there is any intention whatsoever to have even the smallest of get-togethers and have anyone else join you at the unit, this will not be possible.

I need to be very clear that in a case of a violation where there are any complaints regarding noise, smoking or extra people in the unit, we will be forced to evict and you will forfeit your reservation and security deposit."

Are you kidding?? I don't care what their problems were in the past but do not tar me with the same brush. Utterly un-professional and complete joke from a company that bills itself as " a luxury property management company catering to high-end tourists, business travellers, and corporate stays." Haha...not quite!

Various calls to fix id and credit card issues and still did not receive any information of how to check in to the property. Three days before my check-in, I get a call from hotels.com that they cancelled my reservation? What??? They still showed the property available on their website.

In any case, honestly relieved to be done with this joke of a company. Beware.....company seems utterly fly-by-night and should be avoided.
