They have a quasi monopoly and it shows. Decent service when it works but atrocious customer service when things go bad. Would love to see more competition. Unlikley.

Abusive fees

Mobility charges you CHF 50 if you return a car 20 minutes late. But if your booking starts 20 minutes late because the previous customer returned the car late, you get no compensation at all. And they call this “Fair Play Rules”.

Efficiency and sustainability

Mobility cars are available throughout Switzerland and very efficient in combining with public transport. By train to the station closest to my destination - by car for the last miles if public transport is not available there.

**People Over Profit – That's Mobility**

What sets Mobility apart isn't perfection – it's the attitude behind the imperfections. As a cooperative, profit isn't the priority; the members are. And you genuinely feel that.

Spend a little time with Mobility and it becomes clear: the people behind it mean well and are constantly working to do better. The system isn't flawless, but the mindset behind it is the right one.

A clear recommendation for anyone looking to get around sustainably – without owning a car, but with plenty of flexibility.

Best decision ever - sold my car

In 2009 I've sold my car and went travel. On my return instead of getting a new one, I become cooperator of Mobility. I've lend them 1'000 Fr and got free access to more than 3'000 cars in Switzerland, paying only for usage. I can decide each time which car is suitable for the usage, reserve and open it with the phone. Being a cooperative, Mobility needs to follow the advices and decisions of its members. It is a sustainable mobility future. Never had a problem what so ever.

Good Car Sharing experience

Good app, easy to find the appropriate vehicle. Process of opening and closing the car is easy. Decent prices and great cars. No issues in the whole experience. Thanks a lot!

Carsharing is an option

Since 2018 member of mobility. Car sharing has replaced my second car. My behaviour of travelling is now fully flexible - next to bike, public transport and my own car.

Membership is a great investment!

I am a member for 25 years now. Having become a member, instead of paying an annual fee, has proven to be the perfect investment. It is just great to be able to go anywhere and find a car of your choice, be it a small compact car, a family bus or a transporter. The App is highly sophisticated and allows to book, change bookings and even to open the car with your mobile.

Capillar and practical service.

I've been using mobility 10+ years as I don't have a car. There are cars practically at each train station and in cities they are even denser. The fact that fuel is included in the km/h fees is very practical.
It's also nice that a lot of cars are already electrified

Smoothly enjoying Mobility since 2003 and saved a lot of money

I have been using Mobility since 2003, after ditching my private car and decided to become a member (deposit of 1000 CHF, that I can get back at any time if I decide to leave Mobility). Living in Lausanne, I always found any type of vehicle within a few hundred meters of my place. We simply stored kids seats at home (well my 2 kids are now 21 and 23 years old so no need any more !). It has been economically super interesting - I rent ca 2x per month, overall a ca 2000 CHF price tag yearly, all included ! Just to compare.. a parking slot in my house cost ... 2400 CHF per year! I let you do the maths.

Disappointing!

I cancelled my Mobility subscription in writing more than five months ago. Despite this, my card has continued to be charged every month. After calling their office, I was instructed to submit the cancellation via email, which I did — multiple times — along with several follow‑up emails over the months that followed.
When Mobility eventually responded, they stated they had not received any of my emails. As a result, they refused to backdate the cancellation or refund the fees that were charged after my original notice. Instead, they claimed the subscription would only be cancelled after an additional 30‑day notice period, leaving me paying for approximately six months of charges after I had clearly attempted to cancel.
I believed the issue was finally resolved, however today I again received an email advising my card had been charged — this time without any invoice or explanation attached.
Continuing to charge a customer after repeated cancellation attempts, denying receipt of correspondence, and declining to refund fees already taken reflects serious deficiencies in customer service and billing practices. Reviewing other customer feedback, it appears this experience is not isolated but part of a recurring pattern.
Prospective customers should proceed with caution

Unfounded damage claim & poor customer handling (not even one star deserved)

We were charged for vehicle damage we are confident we did not cause. Despite detailed explanations and repeated requests, Mobility relied solely on sensor-based interpretation and refused to provide verifiable evidence.

Mobility does not listen to its customers and does not give them a fair opportunity to explain. From the very first message, we were accused without proper consideration.

Even after escalation to executive level, the claim was maintained and payment was pushed. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing, especially as previously satisfied customers.

This experience has significantly undermined our trust, and we will no longer use Mobility.

Difficult to cancel my monthly subscription!

Cancelling my monthly subscription was difficult. I kept receiving bills even though I stopped using the service and gave written notice of my cancellation. Also -be careful to inactivate any e-bill subscriptions you may take out. Mobility is basically a good service but customer support especially on subscriptions and cancellation is very poor.

Cheap tactics to squeeze money out of people

Their service is not bad in my opinion, I am simply very disappointed that they kept billing me for 4 months of subscription fees after my free subscription for young people automatically became paid. This is despite I reacted/cancelled my subscription soon after they sent me the first monthly subscription bill. Cheap tactics to squeeze money out of people. I expected more from Mobility.

Too expensive! Cars that are dated with 80,000km while pricing is more than the daily price of a car from a car rental company

I used a Mobility car for a very short reservation. Just a few hours and roughly 40 km. Even for such limited use, the experience felt poor value for money.

The vehicle had over 80,000 km, felt dated, and the interior, especially the seats, had unpleasant smells. This was noticeable almost immediately, not something you only feel on a long trip.

What stood out most was the cost. For a short booking like this, I paid an amount comparable to renting a car from companies such as Avis or Hertz, where the vehicles are usually much newer, cleaner, and more pleasant to drive.

The Mobility concept makes sense, but keeping cars in service well beyond 80,000 km, particularly certain French models where interior ageing is very noticeable, seriously impacts comfort and perceived value.

Overall, it felt too expensive for what was delivered.

Scamming clients over traffic fines

Took 40CHF a fine for going 34 in a 30, my mistake. They charged me 30 CHF for "handling of a traffic fine", a service that is surely automatized with 2 lines of code and 1 CHF post operation. Basically a scam company

This has been one of the worst…

This has been one of the worst experiences with online car-rental I've ever had. They automatically renew ANY sort of subscription you have. For example, I had cancelled my subscription entirely and was unpleasantly surprised that they kept my liability insurance running separately (some 200 CHF), only cancelled after going to yet another separate tab. Extremely predatory behaviour.

Very good!

It’s one of the best hourly rent car company. Customer service is always friendly and find a solution for your question and problems. They cancelled my 160 Fr invoice because i told them i didn’t uae Mobility for a long time. They made so many exceptions for my requests.
