Fantastic Service

Mailgun has been a great mail service for my small blog. I even had an issue where my blog became compromised by a significant CVE and Mailgun was able to detect misuse of their service by the compromised credentials. They helped me get back on my feet quickly sending mail and I was able to quickly contain the compromised service because of their early altering. Top notch service.

Top-notch support from Sinch Mailgun Support

What great service from Mailgun! I wanted to change my email address, but it turned out that wasn't possible just like that. I've now experienced that they handle this in a very secure way. Luckily, I got help from three wonderful people: Priya, Liam and John P.

What struck me most: they were fast, friendly and really thought along with me. No standard replies, just genuine good thinking. From a sunny Netherlands: thank you so much all three!

Avoid Mailgun.

Avoid Mailgun.

I used their free service for one of my client’s websites for over six months without issue. Today, while trying to send a legitimate mailshot for a UK business, I ran into account limits and contacted support straight away.

My account was then put under evaluation. They asked questions about my client’s business, which I answered clearly and accurately. Shortly afterwards, they permanently disabled the account without giving any specific reason.

This was the response I received:

“After reviewing your account details and activity, we’ve decided to permanently disable your Mailgun account.

Unfortunately, we are unable to fully disclose specific reasons behind this action in order to protect our customers, internal processes, and compliance systems.”

This has caused unnecessary disruption for a genuine business. What makes it worse is that I had upgraded to a paid account, so I fully expect a refund.

Very poor experience and not a service I would trust again.

Helpful customer service

We needed to update the credentials on our account. It took some figuring out to get to the right team, but once we were connected they resolved our issue promptly.

Finally given up the ghost

Finally given up the ghost.

Shocking canned responses from support that bear no resemblance to the question asked. You have to wait 24 hours for answers to tickets which when you deploy Mailgun for password resets/2FA isn't ideal for our users. Moved to a better provider for a franction of the cost.

I had to give up on Mailgun

I had to give up on Mailgun. I set up my PR company's outbound with them... and whilst (i own this) there were some problems with my list quality, and a break down in checking.... a bunch of my emails were not delivered due to mailgun providing blacklisted shared IPs.

I tried for over a week to get a move to a fixed IP, but for whatever reason... could not get it done. I'm told it won't help me; I don't send enough mail. But I can't prove I send enough mail, because I can't send enough, due to the shared IPs resulting in high bounce levels, and I need to keep backing off my sends.

It's my money, its my choice, why can't I just get a fixed IP?
Moving to another provider.
