they refused my refund using a 'fewer than 3 sessions' rule that appears nowhere in their published policy

I signed up and found the platform slow and confusing. I could not use it properly, especially for coding at the same time. So I cancelled after only 2 days.

They advertise a 3-day money-back guarantee. But when I asked for my refund, they said no. The reason: I had 3 test sessions of 10+ minutes, and their rule says you must have fewer than 3 sessions.

These sessions were not real interviews. They were only test calls I made myself to check if the system worked. I even invited myself from my husband's email to test it. I explained this to support. They refused to reconsider.

So the "money-back guarantee" only works if you almost never open the product. If you test it to see if it works for you, you lose the refund. This condition was not clear to me when I paid.

Support was polite but it was all automated responses. Nobody really looked at my case.

I cancelled my subscription. I recommend others read the refund conditions very carefully before paying, or choose a tool with a real free trial instead.

I’m giving Final Round AI 2 stars…

I’m giving Final Round AI 2 stars because I found it helpful for phone screenings and basic interview preparation. However, I would not recommend relying on it during live interviews. In my experience, it sometimes responded too quickly, had difficulty recognizing when the interviewer had finished speaking, and occasionally treated general conversation as an interview question.

My billing and customer support experience was also frustrating. I believed I had canceled my subscription in June, stopped using the service, and my account displayed that I was on the Free plan. The company later told me they could not find a completed cancellation record. I was charged $150 on June 29 and another $150 on July 13, even though both charges were described as monthly renewals.

Customer support acknowledged that there was a synchronization issue between the billing system and the account display, and they confirmed that I had no usage after the July 13 renewal. They still declined my refund request based on usage from earlier billing periods.

I understand that companies have refund policies, but based on my experience, the billing process felt unclear and the resolution was disappointing. I recommend keeping screenshots of your subscription status, saving the cancellation confirmation, and monitoring your payment method after canceling.

Charged USD 350, No Service, No Refund, Repeated Generic Responses

Paid USD 350 for Final Round AI. Payment succeeded, but my subscription was never activated. Support admitted I’m eligible for a refund and confirmed the problem is their own backend/payment processor. After repeated follow-ups, I still have neither the service nor my refund. Very disappointing customer support and refund experience.

Core Paid Feature Never Worked, Support Failed to Resolve It, and Refund Was Denied

I strongly recommend that prospective customers think twice before purchasing an annual subscription from Final Round AI.

I bought the annual plan primarily for the spoken-answer analysis feature because I had used it successfully on another account. On this paid account, the feature never worked.

The failure was consistent: speech-to-text worked, but clicking “Finish” caused the analysis to fail. I went far beyond what any paying customer should have to do and identified the backend issue myself: the /api/mock-interview endpoint was returning a 500 Internal Server Error.

I provided screenshots, timestamps, reproduction steps, the failing endpoint, and the exact error response. Instead of real technical support, I received a stream of repetitive, generic, AI-style replies asking whether the issue was resolved or requesting information I had already provided. There was no clear explanation of what had actually been investigated, fixed, deployed, or tested.

My original request was not for a refund. I simply wanted the feature I paid for to work. I requested a refund only after the issue remained unresolved and support failed to provide any meaningful progress.

The refund was then denied using a rigid 3-day policy and session-count rules, even though support admitted they could not determine whether those sessions were successful use or repeated attempts to troubleshoot the broken feature. They also refused to escalate the matter to a human billing manager and treated the decision as final.

So the outcome was simple: the core feature never worked, the issue was not fixed, meaningful human support was unavailable, and the refund was denied.

In my experience, this felt like being trapped in an annual subscription while dealing with automated responses instead of accountable customer support.

My advice: do not commit to an annual plan unless you are completely certain the product works for your use case. There are other interview-preparation tools available, and I would strongly recommend choosing one with transparent support, real human escalation, and a fair approach when a core paid feature fails.

I really wanted this service to work

I really wanted this service to work, but unfortunately it wasn't the right fit for me.
I subscribed to Final Round AI to help prepare for interviews, but after trying it I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the responses or the overall experience. I decided I didn't want to continue using the service and cancelled my subscription.
Unfortunately, my subscription renewed before I realised it, and I was charged £111.39. I contacted customer support immediately, explained that I had no intention of using the renewed subscription, and asked whether they could make a one-time goodwill exception.
While support responded quickly, every reply felt very similar and simply referred back to the refund policy. I was told there was no possibility of any exception or escalation, even though I cancelled immediately and won't be using the service during the renewed period.
I understand that companies have policies, but I was disappointed by the complete lack of flexibility for a genuine customer request. Customer service isn't just about following a policy it's also about showing goodwill where appropriate.
This experience has left me with a negative impression of the company. I won't be using Final Round AI again, and I hope the company considers introducing a more customer-friendly approach to renewal refunds in genuine cases.

Update:
I wanted to provide an update to my original review.
Following my review and further communication with Final Round AI, a member of their customer support team contacted me personally to explain that my refund request had initially been declined due to a bug in their support tooling, rather than their actual refund policy.
They acknowledged the mistake, apologised, confirmed that the issue has now been fixed to prevent it happening to other customers, and processed a full refund of £111.39, which I have now received in my bank account.
While the initial experience was frustrating and required more effort than it should have, I appreciate that the company ultimately took responsibility, admitted their error, and resolved the issue.
Thank you to the team for making things right.

Hi Daniel
Thank you for the detailed feedback, and I owe you an apology. You correctly noticed the inconsistency between your conversation and another customer's public refund — the difference wasn't intent, it was a bug in how our support system classified your renewal. Our 3-day money-back guarantee was supposed to cover your situation (immediate cancellation after a renewal, no usage on the new billing period), and the "repeat purchaser" denial you received was wrong. We've now corrected the underlying policy in our tooling so future requests like yours are handled correctly the first time. I've processed your full £111.39 refund to the original payment method — it should appear within 5–10 business days. Your point about goodwill and flexibility is a fair one and I've shared it internally. Sorry again for the round-trip to get here.

Confusing Platform, Unclear Billing, and No Refund

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with Final Round AI.

This was my first time ever using the service. From the beginning, I found the platform confusing and difficult to use during real interviews. The live interview assistance generated extremely long responses that were impossible to read while actively participating in a phone or Zoom interview. Instead of helping me, it often added stress and distraction.

The mock interviews did provide some useful insights, but the suggested answers sounded heavily AI-generated and unnatural. They did not resemble the way real professionals speak in interviews, making them difficult to use in practice.

What has been most disappointing is the customer service experience. After being charged for an automatic renewal, I contacted support to request a refund. I explained that I had only used the platform briefly during my first week and that I am currently unemployed. Despite this, I was told that my account reflected a “repurchase” of the service.

The problem is that this was not a repurchase. This was my first time ever using Final Round AI. When I asked for clarification regarding what they meant by “repurchase,” I received what appeared to be automated AI responses rather than clear answers from a real person.

I paid approximately $150 for a service I barely used, found confusing, and tried to cancel. As a job seeker, that is a significant amount of money. My request was simple: a fair review of my situation and a refund of the renewal charge. ( now 300 dollars in total !)

Potential customers should carefully review the subscription terms and cancellation process before signing up.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service.

Hi Alexandra
Thank you for taking the time to write this, and I'm sorry for how the refund conversation went. You were right to push back: our 3-day money-back guarantee is meant to protect first-time refund requests like yours, and we incorrectly treated the auto-renewal as a "repurchase." That's a policy gap we've now fixed across our support tooling. I've personally processed your full $150 refund and cancelled the subscription. Your feedback on Copilot's response length and the mock-interview tone has also been shared with our product team.

Borderline scam and absolutely useless.

Borderline scam and absolutely useless.
The tool is very robotic and laggy, absolutely not even the worst LinkedIn influencer talks like that.
Also beware, they make it basically impossible for you to cancel the subscription, the cancellation button on the website refreshes without proceeding and if you click “delete account”, you do not receive a cancellation confirmation.
I have been charged more than 300 euro for 3 months in a row despite multiple attempts to cancel.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
If you have been scammed by them, initiate immediately a chargeback with your bank and report them to the consumer rights organisation in your country (gather evidence, such as screen recordings of you trying to delete your account and correspondence with their customer support).

Bad product and dishonest customer service

Honestly, I had a really bad experience with Final Round AI.

I signed up hoping the tool would actually help with live, conversational interview answers, but the responses were slow and often very generic. It did not feel like something that could understand the flow of a real interview or help me give strong, personalized answers in the moment.

The biggest issue is that you cannot really train the AI beforehand. You can upload your resume and the job description, but that is basically it. There is no real back-and-forth where you can teach the AI your background, your past experience, your preferred answer style, or the specific points you want to emphasize. For serious interview preparation, that is a major limitation.

The customer support experience made it even worse. I requested cancellation and a refund within their stated three-day trial policy, but instead of simply canceling it immediately, the support team kept steering the conversation toward canceling at renewal. The emails went back and forth multiple times, and it felt like they were using confusing wording to avoid processing the refund right away.

Overall, the product was disappointing, the support process was frustrating, and the whole experience felt very dishonest.

Keep away from it!

Hi Yifeng

Thank you for the honest feedback, and I'm sorry the cancellation experience felt drawn-out. I can confirm we processed your full $450 refund and cancelled the subscription the same day you confirmed, but you shouldn't have had to push twice to get there.

Your notes on Copilot's tailoring and latency have been shared with the product team. If anything is still unresolved on your account, please email hi@finalroundai.com and I'll handle it personally.

I strongly recommend against purchasing Final Round AI

I purchased Final Round AI (they might also go by Every Round AI) on June 10, 2026 and requested cancellation within an hour or so because I couldn’t figure out their clunky interface and when I finally did the practice bot simply re-read the job description out loud.

The company denied my refund request based on what it characterized as “substantial use” of the platform.

My primary criticism is not even the refund denial itself. It is the cancellation and support process. I received an immediate purchase confirmation, but no cancellation confirmation. Customer support repeatedly asked whether I wanted to cancel after I had already requested cancellation, leaving me with no clear proof of when my request was received or processed.

What makes this especially frustrating is that the company later acknowledged many of the same concerns I had raised. In a lengthy response, support conceded that missing cancellation confirmations create an “information asymmetry,” that customers should receive clear, timestamped proof of both charges and cancellations, and that repeatedly asking customers whether they want to cancel after they have already requested cancellation is not how the process should work.

In other words, the company appears to recognize the shortcomings in its own process while still denying relief to customers affected by those shortcomings.

Your mileage may vary, but my experience was a confusing platform, a refund policy that proved far less straightforward in practice than in theory, and a customer-service process that generated far more emails than answers.

Prospective customers should read the refund policy carefully, document every interaction, and save screenshots of everything.

The product itself is horrible

The product itself is horrible, the customer service is worse. I tried using it within the first few minutes of an interview and the AI model thought that I already had the position I annotated in the job description panel, so it was answering questions in that manner. I reached out to their support for a refund, which it says, if you reach out within the first 3 days of purchase, then they'll refund it.

Their support cited some nuanced "policy" and stated that they won't refund the purchase. I will, instead, be disputing the payment through my credit card company and will be filing a complaint with Ohio's Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission, as this is clearly a scam.

Interview Copilot is honestly a game…

Interview Copilot is honestly a game changer.

It's super easy to use and actually helps a lot during interview prep. The best part is how fast it is - the latency is crazy low, so the whole experience feels smooth and real-time. No awkward waiting, no laggy feeling, it just works.

The Answer are solid. overall, really impressed with it and would definitely recommend it.

Stealth mode doesn't work. Refund ignored for 7 days.

I purchased the Quarterly Plan specifically to test the Stealth mode feature. After testing, the interface was completely visible to other participants during Zoom screen sharing - the opposite of what's advertised as "completely invisible and undetectable."
I requested a refund within 72 hours as per their policy on May 11. Sent a follow-up on May 15. No response in 7 days. Their chatbot just redirects to the same email address I already wrote to.
The product doesn't deliver what it promises and the support is non-existent.

Thank you for sharing this feedback — and we're sorry it took this kind of escalation to reach us. You're right that both your May 11 refund request and your May 15 follow-up never made it to our support queue: an overly broad spam-filter rule on our side caught them before a human could review. We've since identified and corrected the rules so this can't repeat.

On May 19 we processed your refund in full, in line with the 72-hour guarantee. The funds should appear in your account within the standard 5–10 business day window from your bank;

We also genuinely appreciate you flagging the Stealth visibility issue during Zoom screen sharing — that report has gone straight to the product team to investigate.

Apologies again for the delay, and best of luck with your interviews.

Deceptive Pricing and Restrictive Trial Features

The pricing model is deceptive. They advertise a 'monthly' rate of $41.67, but it’s a bait-and-switch; once you reach the checkout, it forces a $500 yearly commitment. While they mention a 3-day money-back guarantee, their fine print explicitly states that monthly plans are non-refundable. Furthermore, the 3-day trial doesn't allow you to test all the features, which is a major red flag. Paying $500 upfront with a high risk of being denied a refund if the software fails to work on my PC is simply not worth the gamble

Be aware that this is a literal SCAM…

Be aware that this is a literal SCAM company. If you subscribed and that's it, you won't be able to get your money back no matter what happens. Even if you file a dispute to the bank it will fail due to their clever T&C trick. You will also not get what you paid for, there is no "premium model" like chatgpt 5 as advertised in their subscription page, their AI backend is built upon the cheapest , worst performing API that you can find. STAY CLEAR of this company, you have been warned.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs.

I paid for a subscription to see if it fits my usage. It sadly didn't as each time I tried to click on one of their interview helpers. It would bring up the site and that would distract me / show that I'm using the helper in a scenario you're sharing your screen.

I contacted through their email straight away (Friday). They didn't get back to me until today (Tuesday) and mentioned that I'm outside of their refund policy and they can't refund me..

Even after paying, I still get the trial feature and it's telling me to upgrade..

Their support is absolutely useless as well as no one will respond to you whatsoever. Even if you ask to speak to an operator, no one will ever join. This is just a money grab. Don't risk it.
