The simplicity of the method and the support available. I prefer to work step by step on each song until I have mastered them, so this method suits me down to the ground
I think the DecPlay method is an excellent starting point for those starting at square one that wan to play the piano. The main emphasis is on the melody and that is a great starting point for those wanting to play songs that can be recognized while playing. It is designed for solo play and not really designed for a sing along style of playing. The initial chording was enough to get one started and some of the variations were quite enjoyable. I did not care for the later left hand patterns where there were single chords presented on the DecPlay song sheet but how to actually play it was no way presented where one could play as demoed. All in all a very good starting point and could be enough for some to just sit down am play songs for enjoyment.

I joined nearly two months ago and believe me it has been a really wonderful experience. I know I’ve only just begun but can play several pieces already. I can learn it at my own pace and the team are helpful if you need any advice. It is something I wanted to go back to after 70 years with Decplay it is the most amazing way of learning quickly and is very effective. It keeps my brain working and I started by only spending 15-30 minutes a day, now I spend at least an hour, sometimes twice a day!

The numbering system is easy to get to the point at which you can actually play something that sounds like music!

Declan's system got me started a year and half ago. I have sinced joined his playing by ear course. His ear training is challenging but effective and I'm getting better at finding the best chords. I play an hour or so each day and enjoy the challenge. I would like more song sheets with the melody and chords and perhaps some system to better monitor my progress. Also, sorry Declan, but the website is a wee bit difficult to navigate. But, great system, keep up the good work. Jim

I have been with Decplay for over five years now & I love it. I'm not as ambitious as many other members, just happy to be able to play recognizable tunes for my own enjoyment. Also the members club & private Facebook group are so friendly & supportive of one another, it's like being part of a very big family. I mustn't forget all the Team as well, they are always willing to help when we have any queries.
All in all, I think this method of learning piano is fabulous for seniors, who don't want to spend years learning theory & notation etc, they just want to play & enjoy it.

I am 75 years old and always wanted to be able to play piano and I have found the DecPlay system to be exactly as advertised. Simple to follow and a great deal of fun to use. I have been able to play favourite songs after a very short time and even some from memory. Declan is very approachable and helpful. Highly recommend.

Decplay is amazing easy steps to playing chords and rhythms. Declan is so clear in his videos and the course is easy to follow. You will be playing songs sooner than you thought possible. It is so much fun and library of great songs and music. The Decplay support is terrific and club motivational. Highly Recommend

I find that in principle it does live up to the claim of being a simpler way of learning to actually play music. Early days for me as yet, so I don't think it is the right time for me to make an overall assessment. Although simpler, it is still aprocess which has to be learned, qequires patience and pratice and self discipline (which I sometimes lack!!). The support is great and the fb group seems to work well, so by and large, thus far, I am quite satisfied and just hope that I can improve over the longer term. Thanks.

If somebody told me just five months ago I would be playing famous pieces by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, Handel, Grieg (simplified versions of course), I would laugh. Didn't know a thing about playing piano. And yet. After practicing more than the course - recommended 15 min three times a week, - not because somebody made me, but because it was enjoyable - I can now play popular music and even some classics. This system is not designed to make you a concert pianist capable of playing truly complex classical music. For that years are needed. It is designed to give you an opportunity to really enjoy playing piano for yourself, family and friends. Decplay method is logical, intuitively understandable, simple and beautiful. It makes the dreaded notation a thing of the past. Granted you will not progress without a diligent practice and definitely will go through some struggle (for me it was the correct fingering), but with patience and perseverance the progress will be quicker than with any other method, and I tired several. Decplay library includes hundreds of beautiful popular, classical, folk, hymns and children's pieces and it grows all the time. If you always wanted to play piano but never had a chance to learn, give it a go. The team is there to support and answer questions, and Decplay community is very supportive. Definitely recommend it.

I struggled to sort out payment for the course, but received fast, friendly help to sort it out. The course lets you go at your own pace and there are instruction videos to help, which are great when you have memory issues. It is fun, and there are lots of songs and pieces of music to choose from once you have completed the beginners stage. There is a Facebook group for those that use social media , and other ways to get help for any questions or problems you have. Well worth the cost. The only thing I would say, is the website is a bit confusing, with lessons seemingly in different places, but that could just be me!!!

A great way to easily start playing tunes. Declan is very good at explaining what to do. I’ve now got a nice new hobby which I wouldn’t have been able to do left to my own devices. Well worth the money.

This is a great way to learn the piano, I've tried other tutors but this appears to be be the most thought out for people like me, the older generation 60+ who want to learn the piano. Something we should have done when we were younger. I would certainly recommend, give it a try.
To be honest I have not got right into the programme but what I have done, I am impressed.
Finding it confusing in a good way about the keys and fingerings as I did 12 years piano many years ago and old habits die hard.😊
This piano course is perfect for me, a senior who hasn’t played in over 50 years. Really easy and fun from the first try, playing tunes I actually know. Love being able to progress at my own pace, adding new lessons whenever I have time and not tied to a teacher’s schedule. Pure fun!
