Karstad Dual Sauna Not as Promised
We ordered a Karstad 6-person dual sauna from Calm Spas at the end of the summer in 2024. It shipped within 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the instructions they sent were inaccurate and that caused all kinds of trouble for our electricians during the installation. Steffan at Golden Designs, the manufacturer of the unit, was very helpful and responsive in helping us get replacement parts and to support the electricians in their installation efforts. Calm Spas handed off our issues to the right people at both Harvia and Golden Designs and contributed $500 toward resolution of the issue while the manufacturer covered another $500 and Harvia provided a replacement electrical panel to the electricians at cost.
We were disappointed to find out though, that the extra money we spent on the Harvia WiFi controller only allowed us to control the Harvia heater, but NOT the Karstad infrared part of the unit. That was not clear during the sales process and was certainly not made clear in the marketing materials on the Calm Spas website - so be aware of that if you are getting a dual unit. We found that one of the walls on our unit started to warp by the end of the first summer and reported that to the manufacterer directly and they sent a replacement wall.
