This latest investment advances a three-year, $1-million commitment to community-led health and wellness initiatives in Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory. As electricity demand continues to grow, Canada has an opportunity to lead in the next generation of clean energy infrastructure. Bruce Power’s James Scongack recently joined TheFutureEconomy.ca to discuss Canada’s nuclear renaissance, lessons from successful refurbishment projects and the importance of long-term planning to deliver clean energy infrastructure that Canadians can rely on for generations. ⬇️⬇️

Bruce Power supplier partners are helping bring Saugeen First Nation’s vision for the historic Saugeen Amphitheatre to life.   Through the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Community Development Fund, a $393,750 donation will support Phase 2 of the restoration project, including new green spaces, gardens, signage, parking improvements and the community’s first trail system. Nuclear energy is a cornerstone of Ontario’s clean energy advantage and has helped make it one of the lowest carbon-emitting grids in the world. With electricity demand—driven by population growth, electrification, and an expanding digital economy—expected to increase by 65 per cent over the next 25 years, it is also positioned to play a vital role in our province’s future. To support these growing energy needs, Bruce Power is embarking on the development of the Bruce C project to expand its nuclear capacity. A new report prepared by the OCC for the Nuclear Innovation Institute and Bruce Power  examines the potential economic impact of the project over the course of its projected lifetime.
