Terms of Service

By creating an account or downloading, installing, or using Avaan (the apps for Mac and iPhone, the iPhone keyboard, and avaan.app, together "Avaan"), you agree to these terms. Arya Labs, Inc. operates Avaan. If you do not agree, do not use it.

You need an account for cloud features, Notes, and sync. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and tell us if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age where you live if it is higher.

Local transcription on the Mac app is free and does not need an account. Signing in unlocks a 7-day Pro trial, described below. After the trial, your Notes stay readable, and cloud features need a Pro subscription.

• Price. Pro costs $7.99/month or $79.99/year. Taxes may apply.
• Allowance. Pro includes 10 hours of cloud transcription each month. Speaker labeling draws from the same allowance, and live voice conversation draws it at 10 times the rate of the audio. The allowance resets monthly on both plans, including yearly, and unused time does not carry over. When it runs out, cloud features pause until it resets.
• Trial. Every new account gets 7 days of full Pro with up to 140 minutes of cloud transcription, once per account. No card is needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.
• Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel from your dashboard on avaan.app if you subscribed on the web, or in your Apple ID subscription settings if you subscribed in the iPhone app. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
• Billing and refunds. Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. App Store subscriptions are billed and refunded by Apple under Apple's terms. For web refund requests, write to support@avaan.app.
• Changes. We may change prices or the plan for future periods, and we will tell you before a change reaches you.

Memories are a Pro feature that you turn on yourself. When they are on, your Note text is processed as described in the Privacy Policy. You can turn memories off at any time.

You keep ownership of your audio, transcripts, and Notes. You give us permission to process them, and to send them to the providers on our subprocessors page, only as needed to provide the features you use. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.

You are responsible for what you record. Get the consent that the law requires before you record or transcribe other people, and do not upload content you have no right to use.

Transcripts, edits, titles, tags, answers, reflections, and suggestions are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Review anything that matters before you rely on it. Ask answers cite your Notes, and a citation does not guarantee the answer is correct. Avaan is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.

Do not use Avaan to break the law, to harass or deceive others, to probe or disrupt the service, or to resell it or extract its models. We may suspend an account that does.

Avaan, its logos, and its software belong to Arya Labs, Inc. and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the apps. Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer them except where the law allows.

You can delete your account at any time in the iPhone app or on your dashboard's Account page, as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting an account does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple ID settings. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms.

Avaan is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accurate, or that it will meet your requirements. Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, language, and other factors.

To the maximum extent the law allows, Arya Labs, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Avaan.

We may update these terms. When a change matters, we will tell you by email or in the app. Continuing to use Avaan after a change means you accept the new terms.
