Went to H&M Welwyn garden city, shop looked like a jumble sale and when I asked a member of staff behind the counter if she would mind serving me, she looked at me like I’d asked for the moon. She the... See more

H&M has a good range of stylish clothing at reasonable prices, and I usually find something I like. However, the quality can be inconsistent, some items last well, while others show wear after just a few washes. The in-store experience is generally good, but stock availability in popular sizes can be disappointing. Overall, it's a decent place to shop for everyday fashion, though there's room for improvement.

Visited the hanley H&M store on Saturday. The young Asian girl at the self checkout was very helpful and polite and she was very easy to approach. Made my shopping experience more enjoyable. I will definitely be returning back as wide range of nice clothing at affordable price and the customer service is second to none!
HR department review
I was genuinely surprised by the length of the hiring process for a management position here in Greece. I received positive feedback two weeks after my first interview, only to be informed a week later, following a second interview, that they had decided not to move forward after all.
Three weeks were ultimately wasted simply because they changed their mind. This reflects a disappointing lack of professionalism, especially from a brand with such a strong global reputation.
Charged for returning faulty item.
Returned a faulty item, informing H&M that it was faulty, and the nature of it.
On receiving my refund, they have deducted return postage costs, something they state on their website they will not do, and of course, should not do anyway.
Will never shop there again.
H&M Cardiff
Me and my friend were in town, popped into H&M Cardiff as he wanted a new T-shirt, he tried it on and we walked to the manned till as we prefer being served than a self-checkout also to get people doing their jobs as what they are there for, and keeping manned tills alive. We wait at the till for someone only for a blonde girl to come by and ask if we’re ok… lol as if it’s some inconvenience. We said yes he just wanted to buy the shirt, she says the till is for refunds only and pointed at the self checkouts to us. Instantly a big red flag. The blonde girl and a blonde guy on menswear did nothing but walk around the floor putting clothes out, so they really were not busy and there were no clothes from the fitting room to put out as we just left from there and the rail is empty. To be so lazy that you won’t serve a customer on a manned till and sending them to self checkouts this is why retail is ruined and the staff are lazy as there was no queue either, just us. After telling us to use the self checkout, a couple after us were told the same but the guy has said they don’t know how to use it and she said she will help them, glad he made them do some work what their being paid for. You’re there to serve customers and provide good customer service, there was none of this so customers have to start making them work and refuse to use self-checkouts. A big till is there for a reason, not just refunds. Customer should be the main priority to serve, not sending them away when you and your colleague are walking around together chatting and there are no more things to put out, and she has no items on her when coming to the till asking if we’re ok when we wanted to be served. So she could have just served us.
I waited an entire week for this parcel…
I waited an entire week for this parcel because I needed the items for an important event.
What is most disappointing is that every single day I was reassured that the parcel would arrive shortly. I was repeatedly told it was on its way and would be delivered soon.
Had I been given an honest update that the parcel had been lost and would never arrive, I would still have had enough time to buy the items elsewhere. Instead, I relied on the information I was given and waited day after day, only to find out too late that the parcel was not coming.
This situation caused me unnecessary stress and left me without the items I needed for an important occasion. I am very disappointed with the way this was handled.
If it could be any lower there would be…
If it could be any lower there would be no stars!! My daughter purchased a pair of pyjamas for me as special gift, at a cost of £40; they duly arrived and on trying were found to be too snug for my 58 year old derrière! The items were repacked and I asked my daughter to return them. First problem, no instore returns, and it appears you even have to pay to return an order. (You don’t get this nonsense with M&S!) after some weeks of waiting my daughter was notified that the return did not meet the criteria, that I had removed the tags and worn the item before then returning them. On disputing this, the customer service representative was rude and hostile and refused to accept this was not the case. The pyjamas were returned to me today, minus any tags, clearly not worn, and with a covering letter accusing me of wearing said items, laundering them, and then attempting to re-attach the label. I’m beyond words; at 58 life is too short for this nonsense, if it doesn’t fit I return it, and I expect the company to treat me, and all customers in a reasonable manner. If this is how they treat so many of their customers (as evidenced in the feedback), they deserve to lose business and ultimately fold. I for one will never use this company again, and as for the lovely treat from my young daughter? Well hopefully she’s learned that some businesses don’t deserve your business and to just walk away forever!
Useless and irresponsible customer…
Useless and irresponsible customer service as I expected! Only AI repli3s from CS. No action no names mentioned and no management attempts at all. That’s what H&M nowadays.
MUST AVOID H&M AT ALL COST!

Do not order from this company they send out dirty used returned T-shirt and will do nothing. You can’t even return it to a store.
Do not order online from H&M, they never deliver when they promise: I got an email to say “Due to a high volume of orders, we're experiencing some shipping delays.”
Delivery delayed
Bad - unwanted daily emails
Bad - unwanted, persistent, daily emails from newsletter dept @hm.com. No way to stop them. Customer service unable to help.

I ordered something of your website on next day delivery and it has been 2 days and still hasn't arrived i need it tomorrow
Very bad online experience
I placed an online order for fourteen items on June 27 which included children’s clothes for their summer holiday and upcoming Birthday presents .
I informed on July 8 that the order was being returned to the sender. When I contacted the call centre asking why the parcel was being returned, I was told that it was damaged. Why was the parcel frail enough to be damaged???? I asked if I could have replacement items sent and was told that this request couldn’t be supported and that I would be issued a refund in 14 days.
I asked anlso about a second order that was placed on the first of July and was told that this was also being returned and that I would be issued with a refund for that order too. I was very angry and let down and to make matters worse I was told that because both of my orders were being returned I would be given a 20% discount off my next online order!!!! I told the operator not to bother sending it as I will never order from H&M again.
Avoid
I have always loved H&M but lately the quality of their clothing has got extremely poor. Their customer service team are awful if you need help/support with a faulty item. Avoid.
H&M the worst on the high street!
since last christmas, I have had nothing but awful experiences with H&M to the point where I have now deleted the app from my phone and will NEVER purchase from again. I ordered items last Christmas that were delivered to the wrong place and I got a refund granted. My next order got lost, I never received it and they wouldn't refund it because they said it happened before so they didn't believe me so i was out money on an order i never got. Fast forward to today, I have been told again my order has been lost!! Items I really needed, I am beyond angry and will never ever order from here again. It's gone completely down the toilet!!
I called in and spoke to a customer…
I called in and spoke to a customer service agent and the agent could hardly speak English. What’s the point of hiring people, who receive English speaking customers, but who are incapable of communicating in English?
2 weeks to return sale items?!
I bought few items and they arrived a day before I went on holidays for 2 weeks. I didn't realise that H&M has now a policy where items on sale can only be returned within 2 weeks! Absolute abomination of a rule. Surely that's not ok with Consumer rights. I will now make sure to avoid H&M and their tatty, poor quality clothes.
Easy to Buy, Impossible to Return – My Consumer Rights Were Effectively Taken Away
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by this experience. What should have been a straightforward return has turned into an endless cycle of dead ends, leaving me with an item that doesn’t fit and no realistic way to exercise my basic right to return it.
I placed a large order through H&M’s website. Unbeknown to me, one of the items came from an H&M sister company, so the order was split into two deliveries. The item itself was fine, but not the right size. I simply wanted to return it and order the smaller size.
The parcel arrived with a return form and a return label. I followed the instructions exactly, completed the paperwork, attached the label, and took it to the Post Office. They refused to accept it because the label was invalid, contained no proper return address, and wasn’t recognised as a valid return barcode. Assuming this was an isolated mistake, I visited my local H&M store. The staff told me they could not accept the return because it belonged to a sister company, even though I had purchased it through H&M’s website. They instructed me to process the return online instead. When I logged into my account, every standard H&M item could be selected for return but the sister-company item was greyed out and completely unselectable. It was literally impossible to submit a return for the very item I needed to send back. To make matters worse, several return links on the website were broken, making the process even more frustrating. I then spent hours trying to find a phone number or email address to speak to an actual person. There was no accessible customer support. The store couldn’t help, the online system wouldn’t let me return the item, the return label supplied by H&M was unusable, and there was no practical way to contact anyone to resolve the issue. As a result, my consumer rights have been effectively diminished. Although the law gives customers the right to return eligible online purchases, H&M’s systems made that right impossible to exercise. When every available return route is blocked, that right becomes meaningless. Taking customers’ money is effortless, but when something goes wrong, there appears to be no functioning process to put it right. I have been left out of pocket through no fault of my own and with an item I cannot use.
My advice is simple: avoid purchasing marketplace or sister-company products through H&M’s website. If you need to return one, you may find yourself in exactly the same situation with no valid return label, no help in store, no working online return option, and no effective customer support. Please avoid H&M‼️
