EDIT: Thanks for your 100th snarky reply. Why don't you use the time and effort you spend replying to these reviews actually addressing the issues that I'm bringing up. I've tried to contact you directly about these issues. I've tried asking for help plenty of times.
Each and every time I have, you have responded the same way: "We're doing our best, but nothing will happen." So you can either admit that your platform isn't good and you people have no interest in bettering it, or you can stop complaining that people are pointing out your flaws and trying to make you better.

As a therapist, joining It's Complicated has been one of the most meaningful professional experiences of my career.

After completing my studies, the platform gave me the opportunity to build and grow my practice, connect with clients from around the world, and focus on the work that matters most: providing thoughtful and compassionate care.

What stands out most to me, however, is the people behind the platform. It is rare to find a company that combines innovation with such genuine care for both therapists and clients. Over the years, I have seen a continuous commitment to improving the experience, paying attention to feedback, and thoughtfully refining every detail. I chose this platform because it presents itself as an ethical alternative in the therapy space and even criticises companies like BetterHelp on its blog.

What disappointed me was discovering that therapist rankings in the directory are influenced by how much therapists pay. According to the pricing page, therapists on higher subscription plans receive "Improved ranking in directory search results" or even "Top ranking in directory search results."

My issue is not that the platform charges therapists or offers premium features. My issue is the lack of transparency for users. When searching for a therapist, there is no clear indication that a therapist may be appearing higher because they pay more for their subscription.

As a user, I naturally assumed the order was based on factors such as relevance, experience, specialisation, availability, or other criteria designed to help people find the right therapist. Finding out that payment affects visibility without any obvious disclosure felt misleading.

For a platform operating in the mental health space, transparency matters. If therapists can pay for better placement, users should be clearly informed about that. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to see how this is meaningfully different from the practices the platform criticises in others.

I am also surprised by this approach given the EU's strong emphasis on transparency and consumer protection, especially in areas as sensitive as healthcare and mental health services.

Looking for a therapist was a big, intentional step for me. I wasn’t sure how to find someone I’d truly click with, but the It’s Complicated platform made it so much easier. The matching tool pointed me toward therapists who fit my needs, and the journey that followed was enriching.

Best therapist directory I’ve used so far. I could actually find someone who matched what I was looking for in terms of price, approach, language, and location, and I booked my first appointment the same week. I’m really happy with the therapist I found and it’s been great being able to see her in person instead of only online. I also started joining some of the free online mental health events through the platform, which I didn’t expect to use much but have actually been really helpful too. Thank you!

I was matched with a therapist through complicated.life and agreed to continue working together after the initial session, paying for two additional sessions. The therapist stated she would provide a structured plan after I had committed my time and money, but this was never delivered.

During the sessions, I became concerned about a lack of sensitivity, emotional containment, and trauma-informed care, despite the platform’s positioning on her. I raised this respectfully and asked whether we could adjust the structure of the sessions to better support my needs. Unfortunately, I received no response.

Following this, the therapist disengaged without any form of closure or follow-up, which I consider ethically problematic given that I was under her care. In addition, there were instances where she did not recall key details from previous sessions, including important aspects of my diagnosis, which raised further concerns about the quality and continuity of care.

Overall, this experience did not meet the standards I would expect from a professional therapeutic service.

It's complicated platform is very easy to use, the support team for therapists is fast, kind and efficient. I (and my clients too) like that it's all in one, you don't need other apps or platforms - making international payments easy too.

I had a couple of therapy sessions with*****, and when I was describing a violent situation in my relationship, where my partner dragged me out of the car, she asked if we had a video of it.
What kind of question is that? As a victim, do I have to prove what happened to me in such an intense moment? Otherwise, is my experience not valid?

It’s complicated is a wonderful community to be a part of. It’s not just another therapy platform, there are so many ways to connect with other therapists from diverse modalities. It’s great that there are platforms offering such a wide range of specialists. I needed a very specific expert, and it’s hard to find that online. I was able to resolve my issue in just a few sessions. I think I’ll come back for follow-up sessions in about six months to validate my decisions and reinforce the results.

I've now had 10 sessions with my therapist, and she is amazing. I've worked with several therapists over the last few years, but this is the first time I feel like somebody actually understands me.
