When life is turned inside out, we see what fabric we are made of. The seams that hold us together, weak or strong, are at least seen for what they are–ragged, shredding bits that look so uncommonly neat from the outside.
I’m falling apart here.
My soul is tearing into blood red pieces, held together only by salty tears, clenched fists, and breaths of poems and prayers.
My anguish forces me to offer up control I thought I had.
My desperation makes me fall into You—
the place I should have been all along.

What a beautiful, soul felt post, Lilly. Thank you for sharing your heart so deeply.
Thank you . . . interesting times.
hello, ms. lily,
i like the emotions you convey in this post, “seen for what they are–ragged, shredding bits that look so uncommonly neat from the outside.” yes…
and the bid for repose, if not salvation,” My desperation makes me fall into You—the place I should have been all along.”
you’re the poet. :):)
Comes from the heart . . .
That’s a big sky.
There has been a HUGE amount of building in the desert here in CA–cheaper land attracts. But looking east, there is still the wide expanse that makes for spectacular cloud shows!
I love the strength of that first photo…incredible.
Thanks a lot!

This is amazing – thank you!
Thank you. Something in my son’s pastor’s sermon this morning reminded me of this older blog.
We cling to the daily lifestyle we have built for ourselves only to find it is made of sticks, clay and our wants. The reality of how fragile all the physical assurance truly are afte an auto accident, a failed relationship, a death brings us back to Him and honestly shows us what we are depending upon and looking to for our security. Our anguish is palpable… His hand is everlasting.
Bring health, healing and provision for us to work with, please.
Vision is always in need of recalibrating. Lord, help.
I have found his sweetest presence in my most desperate times of need. I pray you do too.
Thank you!
