Terms of service

Last updated: 17 October 2026

1. The agreement

These terms govern your use of AnswerLine (answerline.dev), operated by Quantive Betéti Társaság (Quantive Bt.), registered seat Erzsébet körút 55., 1171 Budapest, Hungary, company registration number 01-06-798410, tax number 32660706-2-42 ("we", "us"). By creating an account, using the API or dashboard, or topping up a balance, you accept these terms. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm you can bind it.

2. The service

AnswerLine provides a paid API that returns structured JSON answers collected from AI assistants and search engines (for example ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Grok and Google surfaces), synchronously or as async tasks with webhook delivery. Results reflect what those third-party services returned at the time of the request; we do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness or availability, and the set of supported engines may change as those services change.

3. Accounts and API keys

You must be at least 18 and provide a valid email address. You are responsible for all activity under your account and API keys. Keep keys secret, scope them to the people and systems that need them, and revoke any key you believe is exposed in the dashboard, revocation takes effect within about 30 seconds. We may refuse or reclaim account names and suspend sign-ups we believe are abusive.

4. Fair use and rate limits

Use of the API is subject to the rate window and queue capacity described in rate limits and on the pricing page. Do not attempt to bypass these limits (for example with parallel free accounts) or degrade the service for others. We may throttle, queue or refuse traffic that exceeds fair use.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

You are responsible for how you use the results. Third-party services' own terms may restrict what their content may be used for; complying with those terms is your responsibility.

6. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service: upstream engines can change, rate-limit or block requests without notice, and maintenance or failures happen. Current and recent health is published on the status page. We offer no uptime guarantee for self-serve use; enterprise agreements may include a specific SLA, in which case its remedies are the exclusive remedy for downtime.

7. Balance, billing and payment

8. Refunds and disputes

Refunds of top-ups are handled under applicable law and the refund policy of the merchant of record (Stripe). If you believe you were charged in error, or results were systematically defective, contact [email protected] within 14 days. A refunded top-up, or a payment dispute decided against us, is subtracted from your balance, even if this makes the balance negative. While the balance is negative, new requests are refused until a top-up brings it back above zero. Where EU consumer withdrawal rights apply, this section does not limit them.

9. Your data and results

You keep your rights in the prompts and parameters you submit. We use them only to provide the service as described in the privacy policy, and request payloads and results are deleted within 6 days of the request, with copies in database backups deleted up to 30 days later, as the privacy policy details. Between you and us, you may use the results we return for your internal or commercial purposes, subject to section 5 and the rights of the upstream services.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement to the extent the law allows. Results are third-party content and may be wrong, incomplete or outdated; verify anything that matters.

To the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data; and our total liability for all claims in a year is limited to the amounts charged to your balance in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for willful misconduct.

11. Term, suspension and termination

These terms apply while you use the service. You can stop at any time, and you can delete your account in the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for breach of these terms, non-payment, or abuse, and otherwise with 30 days' notice. On termination your keys stop working, queued tasks are dropped, and any remaining balance is not paid out, except where law requires otherwise. Sections that by their nature survive (billing owed, liability, governing law) survive.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date. For material changes we give at least 14 days' notice by email or in the dashboard; continuing to use the service after they take effect means you accept them.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, with mandatory EU consumer protections unaffected where they apply to you. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Budapest, Hungary, except where mandatory law gives a consumer the right to sue elsewhere. Before litigating, both sides will try to resolve disputes informally via [email protected].
