The idea behind Thrum Room was conceived and executed in December 2012 by Helmut J ( and formally Robin Would) who decided to make something corporeal of their love and passion for the dubbier side of House and Techno. Thus the Dub Techno concept night (Thrum Room) and podcast series (Thrumcast) was born.
Wikipedia describes Dub Techno as :
“Songs of this genre can typically be identified by heavy use of delay and reverb applied to minor chords, structured around a minimal techno drum track”
As a concept night, Thrum Room brings to you the very finest Deep House, Techno and of course Dub House & Dub Techno artists Cape Town has to offer, exploring a (sub)-genre much lacking in the night life of Cape Town & well worth exploring.
