As part of the ALA's regular information, technology and applications review cycle, we evaluate our products in the context of our full-service offering to Australia's biodiversity information community.

Sometimes products are found to no longer meet these needs, may be supporting a decreasing user base, or may be reliant on outdated technology unable to be supported by contemporary IT capabilities.

With this context in mind, a decision has been made to retire the ZoaTrack product. Unfortunately, we would have liked to give as much lead time as possible, but due to unforeseen circumstances we must retire ZoaTrack immediately. From 5:30 pm on 12th July 2024, ZoaTrack will no longer be accessible.

What's Next?

We will continue supporting ZoaTrack users in the near future by allowing them to access their data on a as needs basis, and offering support to migrate projects and data to remain publicly available. The ALA is committed to mobilising animal tracking data and this will occur in future via its core data platform.

We thank our developers, users and contributors who have supported the development of this product.
