Spot prices will be noticeably more expensive on Tuesday compared to Monday, according to data from the Nordic electricity exchange, Nordpool.
Prices will begin to rise early in the morning, peaking between 9am and 1pm, when the rate will reach nearly 38 cents per kilowatt-hour.
The price will remain above 30 cents per kilowatt-hour until around 10pm, after which it will drop below 20 cents.
The spike is driven by decreased output from wind power production and maintenance outages at Olkiluoto units 2 and 3.
Households with spot-price electricity contracts have been found to significantly change their power consumption on days when electricity prices are at historic highs or lows, according to a recent joint study by the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) and electricity company Väre.
