I never realized how much this would become an important part of my life, but I'm glad I took the chance. A private lesson was initially was just a bday present for my boyfriend and now we are BOTH wielding swords and staffs. I even went to China to learn martial arts and tour with the school and had a BLAST.
Master Hu and the community are incredible. I have done private lessons the past two years so I am able to learn at my own pace. I have also done workshops and belt tests and attend events on the regular.
Highly recommend learning with a legend who is so patient, kind and knowledgable.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Lora O.Central LA, Los Angeles, CA34888Apr 18, 2025
I have been a student here for almost 4 years, and I'm incredibly grateful to have found this place. What began as a curiosity to learn about wushu and weapon choreography quickly evolved into something much deeper, a second home. Beyond learning from the incomparable Sifu Hu and his lifelong mastery at the art of wushu, I have found a community of close friends and a second family in the Hu's. I can't recommend this school more

Master Hu is an excellent instructor. It is very hard to find an instructor with his knowledge, experience, and credentials in Los Angeles. My kids have been taking classes with him for over 4 years and they have grown immensely in their strength and flexibility, and it has carried over into their sports activities.

My teenage daughter has taken private lessons with Master Hu and attended the weekly Sunday group classes for several years now, and she always looks forward to attending each session. Master Hu is not only an accomplished martial artist but also a patient and encouraging teacher. Masters Hu and Zhang have created a warm, family-friendly environment while helping their students, including my daughter, develop truly astounding martial arts skills. We feel so fortunate to be a part of Shaolin Wushu Center.

We in LA have a golden opportunity to learn wushu and Taichi from sifu and simo at Shaolin wushu center, who both have a ridiculous amount of professional experience. My child has been attending group and private lessons for the past eight years. During that time he has had a chance to compete internationally in Japan and participate in a cultural exchange in China; experiences he will remember throughout his life. The instructors and other students have created a supportive multicultural community grounded in a love for wushu.

The Shaolin Wushu Center is a wonderful martial arts center with a family-like atmosphere. We are delighted to have found Master Hu for our children; he is a very talented and reputable instructor. Our children are not only becoming physically stronger but also more disciplined.

This is a great place to be learn wushu. To me it's a combination of martial arts, acrobatics, and choreography. It's like learning a dance. I tried this for 3 months and used either sword or stick. It can feel intimidating when you start especially because the classes are all mixed levels so you see what advanced students can do. Master Hu is a wonderful teacher and I hope to return soon.
I wish there were more times offered for group Tai Chi & QiGong classes.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Fred W.West Hollywood, CA0391Dec 12, 2024
I am 80 years old and I am taking private TaiChi/Qigong lessons from Master Zong. She is a wonderful instructor, most excellent! She is very patient and explains everything. I feel improvement in my strength, mobility and balance. The studio is bright and airy, with a long wall of big mirrors. I feel fortunate to have found this Center. The parking is easy.

This is a great place to learn Wushu. I came with zero background in martial marts but with some aerial/yoga experience. I was so scared my first class but Master Hu and his wife were supper supportive and attentive. The classes are challenging but fun. The movements you learn are both dynamic but beautiful.
On your first class, you pay for a monthly tuition and a one time uniform fee. $60 for shoes, shirt, and pants.
I hope everyone gives you place a try and support your local small business.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
