Motivation
[edit]The pre-existing "LGD local body code" property which is used for various types of Indian administrative entities like states/districts/subdistricts has a couple of problems. Firstly the collision problem, there can be collision across various entity types( a state LGD code can be the same of another district's LGD code ). Secondly, there is also a problem where any block of West Bengal has 2 LGD codes, one as subdistrict and another as a block, this breaks the single value constraint. Creation of separate LGD State or UT code, LGD District Code, LGD Subdistrict Code, LGD Block Code etc would alleviate these problems. LGD Block Code is the first of the separate identifiers which is to be used only for the Community Development Block entities. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by RamSeraph (talk • contribs) at 15:20, April 25, 2024 (UTC).
Discussion
[edit]- I agree if it is to be used only where subdistricts differ from blocs. --Arjunaraoc (talk) 02:53, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Arjunaraoc Actually, it is more relevant for states where subdistricts are same as blocks, but it would make sense to use it for all community blocks for consistency. RamSeraph (talk) 07:32, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- @RamSeraph, Agreed from the consistency angle. Arjunaraoc (talk) 08:21, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Arjunaraoc:, looks you are supporting the proposal. Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:42, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
