The tracks and fields are clear despite a dip in the temps for Trinity

Qualifiers keep coming in, regardless of conditions

SOUTHWEST NORTH DAKOTA — Trinity’s Alonzo Kudrna continues to ride-herd on the sprints — posting a 12.15 in the windy, 100m final in the Shanley High School Catholic Quadrangular on Friday, April 11 — while a series of other Titans posted solid results. Bella Kovash finished in fourth during the girls-side of the same event at 14.49, and other top-four finishers throughout the day included Nora Winhold’s 29.34 for third in the 200m dash and Annabel Scheeler’s 400m time of 1:04.37 and a silver-ribbon, with Colton Christenson taking third in the 400m dash at 56.22 and the 4x200m relay team of Kate Glaser, Jordan Tessier, Kovash and Winhold earning second at 1:54.71.

Meanwhile, Elly McAvoy, Scheeler. Deiandra Hondl and Ellie Spradling took a blue-ribbon time of 4:24 in the 4x400m relay while Celine Lefor combined with Carley Bullinger, McAvoy and Ellie Spradling for a second-place 4x800, relay time of 10:32.16.

For the boys track events, Christenson also booked third in the 300m hurdles with a 45.58 and the team of Jake and Max Glaser, Elijah Jilek and Kudrna placed third in the 4x100m relay at 45.90. Jake Glaser, Jilek, Brody Kuntz and Kudrna earned second in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:35.93 and the Titans took the top-time of 3:44.50 through the efforts of Brody Kuntz, Christenson, Landon Knote and Lukas Eilts in the 4x400m relay. Class A state-champion wrestler Hugh Meyer, Knote, Aidan Ellerkamp and Andrew Jacobs finished with a blue-ribbon 9:37.65 in the 4x800m relay to round-out the track events for THS’s boys.

In the field-events, top-four finishers included Blake Peters’s third-place 5’8” mark in the high-jump and Jake Glaser’s 11’ leap in the pole-vault – 6” shy of state qualification – while the girls saw Jordan Tessier finish fourth in the long-jump at 14’5.5” and Kovash nail a #1 123’6” effort in the javelin to again qualify for state … 8.5’ past the necessary mark.
