STEPS INVOLVED IN ALIGNMENT
PROCEDURE

► Step-1 Clamp Fixing

► Step-2 Transmitters fixing
► Step-3 Data entry
► Step-4 Initial alignment checking
► Step-5 Misalignment correction
STEP-1
CLAMP FIXING
 Fix one clamp on shaft
of the stationary
equipment

 Fix the another clamp

on the shaft of the
movable equipment

 Ensure that there

should not be any
looseness in fixing the
clamps

 Clamps should not be

fixed on the coupling
sleeves and loose parts
STEP-2
TRANSMITTERS FIXING
 Fix TDS on stationary
equipment.

 Fix TDM on Movable

equipment.

 See that TDS and TDM

are at same level and
letters S and M appear
at the top.
STEP-3
DATA ENTRY
 Switch on the
device, see the
program menu on
the screen.

 Press 11 to select
horizontal machine
alignment.
S M

 Measure and enter distance between

Stationary transmitter to moving transmitter
(S-M)
 PRESS ENTER BUTTON
Again press
ENTER button
S F1

 Measure and enter the distance between

S to Foot-1(F1).
 PRESS ENTER BUTTON
S F2

 Measure and enter Distance between

Stationary transmitter to Foot-2(F2).

 PRESS ENTER BUTTON

APPEARS CIRCLE ON
THE SCREEN
STEP-4
INITIAL ALIGNMENT
CHECKING
NOTE:
Reference for alignment is
from stationary equipment to
moving equipment.
 Rotate the TD-units to
the 9”o clock position.

 Adjust the laser

beams to the centre of
both targets using
adjustable rollers.

 Open shutters, wait

until TD-values appear
PRESS
ENTER
BUTTON
Appears zero
setting on the
screen
 ROTATE TD-UNITS TO 12”O
CLOCK POSITION.

 SCREEN NOW DISPLAYS THE

CURRENT VERTICAL POSITION.

 PRESS ENTER BUTTON

 Rotate TD –Units to
3”O clock position

 Press ENTER
button
 Appears initial
alignment reading
as on the screen

 Clamps are at
horizontal position.

 Live also at
horizontal position.

 Move the motor

horizontally until
alignment readings
with in tolerances.
 Radial
misalignment is
0.03mm

 Axial
misalignment is
0.02/100mm
 After adjusted motor
horizontally, rotate
TD- UNITS to 12”o
clock position and
5
PRESS “ ”.

 Live appears on
vertical
 By observing the
vertical reading,
tighten bed bolts.

 Do necessary
shimming until get
radial and axial
alignment readings
with in tolerances
1. IF VERTICAL READINGS ARE WITH IN
LIMITS ,ONCE AGAIN TAKE ALINMENT
READING AS FOLLOWS
2. PRESS BACK ARROW BUTTON
3. CIRCLE APPEARS ON SCREEN
4. ROTATE TD-UNITS TO 9”o CLOCK
POSITON
5. CLOSE THE SHUTTERS AND ADJUST
LASER BEAMS TO CENTER OF BOTH
TARGETS
6. OPEN SHUTTERS PRESS ENTER
BUTTON
7. ROTATE TD-UNITS TO 12”O CLOCK
POSITION AND PRESS ENTER BUTTON
8. ROTATE TD UNITS TO 3”O CLOCK
POSITION AND PRESS ENTER BUTTON
9. APPEARS FULL SET OF READING AS
FOLLOWS
Final alignment reading
suppose to be appear as
on the screen
STEP-5
MISALIGNMENT
CORRECTION
HORIZONTAL CORRECTION

TIGHT SIDE JACK BOLTS AS FOLLOWS..

 First tight back jack bolt until get “F2”

value nearer to zero

 Then after tight front jack bolt until get

radial and axial readings with in tolerances.
VERTICAL CORRECTION

After fully tightened bed bolts, suppose

vertical readings appears as above, add
shims.

• Add 0.21mm Shim under front feet (F1)

• Add 1.09mm Shim under back feet (F2)
• After fully tightened bed
bolts,

• suppose vertical readings

appears as in the picture,
remove shims.

• Remove 0.17mm shim

from front feet (F1)

• Remove 0.40mm shim

from back feet (F2)
After making Vertical and Horizontal Corrections,

• You should Obtain new measurements.

• Compare results to specified tolerances.

• Repeat corrections until results are within

tolerances.

• Obtain and document a final set of

measurements.
