RESECTION IN SURVEYING IS A
METHOD USED TO DETERMINE THE
UNKNOWN POSITION OF THE TOTAL
STATION (INSTRUMENT) BY
MEASURING ANGLES AND/OR
DISTANCES TO TWO OR MORE KNOWN
POINTS (CONTROL POINTS) WHOSE
COORDINATES ARE ALREADY
ESTABLISHED. IN
RESECTION
PROGRAM
1. POWER ON THE TOTAL STATION.
2. PROPERLY LEVEL THE INSTRUMENT.
3. WHILE IN OBSERVATION MODE, GO TO
PAGE 1.
4.CHOOSE THE COORD PROGRAM
5. SELECT OCC. ORIEN. (OCCUPY AND
ORIENT).

6. THEN CHOOSE THE RESEC (RESECTION)


OPTION.
7. CHOOSE THE NEZ METHOD (NORTHING, EASTING,
ELEVATION).

8. SIGHT AND MEASURE THE FIRST KNOWN


POINT
9. ENTER THE HEIGHT OF REFLECTOR
(HR).

10. SELECT YES TO CONFIRM THE MEASURED TARGET AND


PARAMETERS.
11. INPUT OR LOAD THE COORDINATES OF THE FIRST
POINT
12. THEN SELECT NEXT.
13. SIGHT AND MEASURE THE SECOND
POINT.

14. INPUT HR( HEIGHT OF


REFLECTOR
15. CONFIRM AGAIN BY SELECTING
YES. THE COORDINATES OF THE SECOND
16. INPUT OR LOAD
POINT.

17. SELECT CALC TO COMPUTE THE RESECTION (CURRENT STATION COORDINATES AND
ORIENTATION

18. TO REVIEW ACCURACY OR POSITIONING ERROR, CHOOSE


RESULT.
19. PRESS OK TO
PROCEED
20. CHOOSE YES TO SET
AZIMUTH
21. ENTER THE POINT NAME, INSTRUMENT HEIGHT, AND
CODE.

22. PRESS REC TO SAVE THE RESECTION POINT AND


ORIENTATION.
