ACTIVITY 5: LETTER WRITING
Letter writing is another mode of conversation. The
following activity has been designed to improve the writing
skills as well as the creative thinking of the students.
The class will be divided into different groups according to
the number of students.
The teacher will give brief introduction to Informal letters.
The teacher will write the format of Informal letter on the
blackboard.
The teacher will ask the students to write an informal letter
as per the format.

The students will work in groups and write the
letter with the help of the hints of the format.
The teacher will ask any group to read the
letter loudly in the class.
The other groups will jot down the different
ideas if any in their notebooks and incorporate
them in their own letters.
The teacher will ask them to write the final
draft of the letter as a home assignment.
In the given format you can write letter to your
friend congratulating him/her on success; for
not attending birthday party, thanking for the
present; congratulating on someone's birth etc.
Similarly, formal letter writing can be taught to
the students.
