CHAPTER I: The Problem and Its Scope

In the view of efficiency, students can only achieve such

adaptability and competency while bearing the responsibilities as
learners in an institution if they manage their time for school
chores accordingly and wisely. With time management, students'
efficiency will be highly possible.

As claimed by Sayari et. al. (2017), time management is by all

means important in all aspects of our lives. Whether in individual
capacities or in businesses and organizations, the use and
management of time are equally important. It was well stated that,
as applied to educational settings, time is precious to students,
teachers, heads, and the institution as a whole.
CHAPTER I: The Problem and Its Scope

Time management, indeed, affects every aspect of a student's

life. However, it might indeed be hard to achieve such efficient
management of time for which students have many tasks to be
done by due dates.

The gap is seen in that there were fewer influences of time

management on students' efficiency, thereafter, there are more
influences to be elaborated on and those influences need to be
given an awareness, substantially for students in the senior high
school department.

In discoursing this gap, this study will address and elaborate on

the influences of time management on students' efficiency and will
help students be more efficient in doing individual tasks and work.
Conceptual Framework

Chapter II: Review of Related
Literatures and Studies

According to (Nasrullah & Khan, 2015), in the modern world,

time is seen as an indefinitely divisible and usable commodity. It
was claimed by (Nasrullah & Khan, 2015), the secret to achieving
success in life is effectively managing this resource that everyone
possesses equally and paying sufficient emphasis to planning.

One can use time effectively and adequately by maintaining

time records, setting short- and long-term goals, setting priorities,
making to-do lists and schedules, and managing one's program
workplace, as previous research and an abundance of how-to
guides, suggested (Sabelis, 2001).
Chapter II: Review of Related
Literatures and Studies
Empirical evidence suggests that effective time management is
associated with greater academic achievement (McKenzie & Gow,
2004; Trueman & Hartley, 1996) as students learn coping
strategies that allow them to negotiate competing demands.

In line with this, Macan et. al. (1990) suggest time management
should include the following components of distinguished
demands, sorting according to their importance, and the
corresponding allocation of time and resources based on the
degree of importance.

It will also help to make some decisions about changes we

would like to make to use our time more effectively (Noftle et. al.,
