MOTIVATION & PROBLEM STATEMENT
Loop Holes in Existing Work:
•Limited accuracy under varying environmental conditions: Traditional
image processing techniques struggled with lighting changes and background
clutter, affecting disease detection accuracy.
•Scalability issues: Manual monitoring methods were not feasible for large-
scale agricultural surveys.
•Privacy concerns: Existing systems lacked proper mechanisms to protect
sensitive data, particularly in remote sensing and IoT integration.
Need for Enhancement/Modification:
•Our project addresses these challenges by:
• Implementing Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to handle
variability in plant appearance and improve detection accuracy.
• Using UAVs and IoT devices to enable real-time monitoring, thus
providing scalable solutions.
• Incorporating advanced encryption and privacy-preserving
techniques to safeguard data during transmission and storage.
By leveraging these enhancements, the project aims to overcome the
limitations of existing methods, providing more robust, scalable, and secure
solutions for plant disease detection.
