C ON S T I T U T I O N A L M E A S U R E S F O R G E N D E R
E Q U A L I T Y:
Article 14, provides the equality before law and equal
protection before law.
Article 15(1) of the Indian Constitution explicitly
prohibits any type of discrimination on the basis of sex.
Article 15(3) of the Indian Constitution made it clear
that the state is in an authority to create particular
provisions for women and children.
Article 16 prohibit the discrimination of women on the
ground of sex in accordance of areas pertaining to
public environment and appointment to any office by
giving equal opportunity to all.
Article 39 says It mandates the State to aim its approach
against equally reserving the right to a decent medium
of living for men and women.
Article 51(A)(e) of the Constitution, it is every citizen's
responsibility to abandon behaviors that are
disrespectful of women's dignity.

LGBTQ community: - The Indian Supreme Court's
decriminalization of Section 377 of the Indian Panel
Code has resulted in justice for the LGBTQ
community.

Naz Judgement :- Delhi High Court declared Section


377 to be unconstitutional.

NALSA judgement:- Transgender people were


recognised as citizens of this country, all the
Fundamental Rights were extended to them and
they were given the identity of Third Gender.
