3.1. Attendance (10%)
10% = 10 points
o 1 day off = 9 points
o 2 days off = 8 points
o 3 days off = 7 points
o 4 days off = 0
3.2. Mini Tests & Participation (10%)
Mini tests
o Mini tests in vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading: Please find the test dates in the Course
Syllabus.
o Mini tests in paragraph writing: Please find the test dates in the Course Syllabus.
Participation
o Participation in interactive classroom activities
=> Grades for Mini tests and Participation will be all averaged to count as 10%.

o Reading Portfolio (5%)
2 word lists, 2 summaries and 3 recordings
o Speaking Portfolio (5%)
Students can submit their work through MS Teams in relevant channels.
Late submissions are not accepted.
More on Reading Portfolio (5%): Students complete 2 books.
o Students complete the 1st book and in Week 3 students submit:
A list of 60 pieces of vocabulary with their Vietnamese meaning. The vocabulary is taken from the 1 st
book.
A summary (minimum 300 words) of the 1st book.
o Students complete the 2nd book and in Week 6 students submit:
A list of 60 pieces of vocabulary with their Vietnamese meaning. The vocabulary is taken from the 2 nd
book.
A summary (minimum 300 words) of the 2nd book.
More on Speaking Portfolio (5%): Students practice conversations and make recordings.
o The scripts for the recordings are relevant to daily life conversations, provided by the Faculty of English and
available through the link provided.
o Students work in pairs, practice 3 conversations, and record their conversations. In the recordings,
students need to:
Introduce their full name at the beginning of each recording.
Submit their recordings on the 2nd class day of Weeks 3, 4 and 5.
Video recordings would be preferred.
3.4. Speaking Test (20%)
- To be explained by your foreign lecturers.
- Please feel free to consult me for further clarification.
3.5. Final Test (50%)
Content: Units 5 - 8
Format: MCQ, Computer-based, Offline
o Section 1: Listening - 15 questions (True/False, Multiple choice)
o Section 2: Grammar - 20 questions (Multiple choice)
o Section 3: Vocabulary - 20 questions (Multiple choice)
o Section 4: Reading - 15 questions (True/False/Not Given, Multiple choice)
Time: 60 mins
