ENTRERENEURSHIP
• Is a proactive process of developing a
business venture to make a profit. It
involves seeking opportunities for a market,
establishing and operating a business out of
the opportunity and assessing its risks and
rewards through close monitoring of the
operations.
FACTORS AFFECTING ENTRERENEURSHIP
1. Personality Factors which includes:
• Initiative - which means doing things even
before being told.
• Proactive -which means he can classify
opportunities and seize it.
• Problem Solver - which means he can retain
good relations with other people.
FACTORS AFFECTING ENTRERENEURSHIP
1. Personality Factors which includes:
• Perseverance - meaning he will pursue things to
get done regardless of challenges.
• Persuasion - means that he can entice people to
buy even if they don’t.
• A Planner - meaning he makes plan before doing
things and do not fail to monitor it.
• Risk-taker - which means that he is willing to
gamble but he will calculate it first.
FACTORS AFFECTING ENTRERENEURSHIP

2. Environmental
Factors which include
political, climate, legal
system, economic and
social conditions and
market situations.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
1. Entrepreneurship produces more jobs that
equate to an increase in national income. –
Millions of unemployed people will have the
opportunities to have a decent occupation.
Small businesses produce jobs and create
wealth.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship

2. Entrepreneur amplifies
economic activities of
different sectors of society.
– A simple eatery in a rural
area and a coffee shop in an
urban area both ignite
economic activity regardless
of their business scale.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship

3. Entrepreneurship introduces
new and innovative products
and services. – New products
and services are always available
in the market because of the
ingenuity of entrepreneurs to
seek opportunities and improve
on them.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
4. Entrepreneurship improves people’s living
standards – How can you look good if not for
the services of your nearby salon or barber
shop? How can your day be complete without
the food that a nearby eatery cooks? How can
you live without the sari-sari store near your
house where you buy your basic needs?
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
5. Entrepreneurship disperses the economic
power and creates equality. – It balances the
economy by distributing national income to
more businesses rather than to only few
monopolies.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
6. Entrepreneurship controls the local wealth
and balances regional development – It makes
sure local resources are used properly and every
area has an appropriate allocation of resources.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
7. Entrepreneurship reduces social
conflicts and political unrest – Imagine if
there are no or only few sari-sari or
supermarket stores in your area. All of
you will then fight for the food supplies
because the store cannot supply all your
needs.
Societal and Economic Benefits of
Entrepreneurship
8. Entrepreneurship Elicits Economic
Independence and Capital Formation – A
country with more entrepreneurs is highly likely
to become financially independent and will less
likely need the help of other countries. This also
applies to families, barangays and cities.
Entrepreneurship creates wealth instead of
borrowing wealth.
WHO IS AN
ENTREPRENEUR?
Entrepreneur
• The word “entrepreneur” was derived from
the French verb ENTREPRENDRE, which
means “to undertake.” This is pinpointing
to those who “undertake” the risk of
enterprise.
• The enterprise is created by an
entrepreneur and the process is called
“Entrepreneurship.”
• An entrepreneur is a unique individual who
has the innate ability and extraordinary
dedication to establish and manage a
business, acknowledging all the risks and
reaping its reward.
5 Levels of Entrepreneurial Development
LEVEL 1: The Self-Employed Mindset

- The first level pertains to self-employed persons who

desire to have greater control over their lives, careers, and
destinies by independently braving their own path into
business.

- They believe that they could do their job just as well

without an employer – and perhaps, without the need for
other employees. They want more autonomy. They want
to do things their own way.
5 Levels of Entrepreneurial Development

LEVEL 2: The Managerial Perspective

- The second level, in contrast to the first mindset, has

a greater position to succeed as an entrepreneur
because of the belief that business is all about
managing people.

- Managers who become leaders succeed because they

accept the challenge and responsibility of ensuring that
others under their wings also succeed and flourish. By
getting the most out of employees, managers
themselves are able to delegate aspects of their
business to others and set higher goals.
5 Levels of Entrepreneurial Development

LEVEL 3: The Attitude of Owner/Leader

- Entrepreneurs who have become an owner or leader of a business

with a well-established organization.

- This entrepreneur enjoys remarkable benefits by knowing how to

step aside and let the business – and those employees working in it –
operate as a profit center that is not reliant upon the owner’s
constant hands-on participation. This kind of entrepreneur has
created an organization that is more self-sufficient and self-
sustaining.
5 Levels of Entrepreneurial Development

LEVEL 4: The Entrepreneurial Investor

- Entrepreneurs who are investing and managing their money to produce
more money and to elevate the business. Franchising is one of the key
tools of those who are in this level of entrepreneurial mindset.

- By franchising the original venture or buying up other healthy businesses,

the investor can get into the career of not just selling basic products and
services, but of selling entire businesses. The goal, of course, is still to turn
a profit.

- So rather than remaining at the helm of these companies, the investor

will buy them, ensure that they have valuable equity or attractive allure
and potential, and then sell them to other entrepreneurs or would-be
entrepreneurs. The focus becomes finding, buying, and perhaps
refurbishing, businesses.
5 Levels of Entrepreneurial Development
LEVEL 5: The True Entrepreneur

- Entrepreneur who turns goals and dreams into reality and who earns
through extensive passive income. These people profit in all situations
and add to their wealth by acquiring more profit centers, more paper
assets, and more entrepreneurial power.

- The true entrepreneur uses a four-step approach to thinking:

1) Idealization of dream – Imaging ideal world dreams
2) Visualization of goals - picturing the idea l world as a reality in order
to work on goals.
3) Verbalization of the vision – putting the dream and the vision into
words
4) Materialization of the dream- when dream becomes real and
tangible.
