INTRODUCTION

A Library Management System (LMS) is an advanced software solution

designed to efficiently manage and organize library resources. It handles
tasks like cataloging, circulation, inventory management, and user account
management. With features such as online catalogs, barcode integration for
check-outs and check-ins, and detailed reporting, an LMS streamlines
library operations, making it easier for patrons to find and access materials
while reducing the administrative workload for librarians.

PROBLEM STSTEMENT

A library management system is designed to efficiently

manage book inventory, track borrowed and returned
books, and streamline user registration. Its primary goal is
to automate routine tasks, improving accessibility and
organization for both library staff and patrons.
.
SCOPE OF PROJECT

01 02

Book Catalog: It helps the library keep track User Management: This manages all library
of all books, journals, and other materials. You members, like students or staff. It keeps track
can easily add, update, or search for books by of who borrowed which books and when.
title, author, or other details.

03
Book Borrowing & Returning: It lets users
borrow books and return them on time. The
system also tracks due dates and overdue books,
and may apply fines.
OBJECT OF PROJECT

including their personal information and
their borrowing history
EXISTING SYSTEM

 If one is not very careful then there is a possibility of issuing more than one book to a user.

 There is a possibility of issuing a book to a user, whose membership is not

 When a user requests for the a book, one has to physically check for the presence of a book
in the library
 Answering management query is a time consuming process.

 Daily keeping a manual record of changes taking place in the library such as book being
issued, book being returned etc. can become cumbersome if the Library size is bigger.
PROPOSED SYSTEM

1. User Management:Admins can add/update/delete users.Users can register, log in, and
manage profiles.

2. Catalog Management:Admins manage the library’s collection, categorizing resources

genre, author, or publication.

3. Lending System:Track check-ins/outs, due dates, and overdue fines

4. Inventory Tracking:Monitor stock levels, conditions, and restocking needs

5. Notifications:Send reminders for due dates, overdue items, and reservations

1. Processor: Intel core i3 or higher 1. Programming languages : CSS,JAVA SCRIPT, REACT

2. Backup Storage:100MB 2. Database Connectivity: MySQL

3. Testing Devices: Smartphones, Tablets and 3. Editor :Vs code, Notepad

different web browsers. 4. Security Tools
4. Storage Minmum100mb 5. Web Browser : Chrome , Microsoft edge
5. RAM: Minimum 4GB
CONCLU SI O N

The conclusion of the project is that a functional Library Management System ( LMS)
will be successfully created, allowing the storage and retrieval of library information. It
will also help assign user roles to librarians and staff so that they can work according to
their roles and complete their allocated tasks efficiently. The system now enables
efficient searching for books and other resources, facilitating easy access to their data
when needed. The project will improve data secu rity measures, ensuring that sensitive
information is safeguarded from unauthorized access or breaches.
