I. DEFINITION
The Olympic Games (OG), also called the
Modern Olympic Games, since they
extend the tradition of the Olympic
Games of ancient Greece, are major
international sporting events, bringing
together summer or winter sports, in
which thousands of athletes compete
through different competitions every
four years, for each modern Olympiad.
II. International Olympic Committee
The International Olympic Committee or IOC is an
organization created by Pierre de Coubertin in 1894,
to reinstate the ancient Olympic Games and then
organize this sporting event every four years, then
alternating every two years from 1994, Summer
Olympics and Winter Olympics.
