GOOD

AFTERNOON
Grade 5 - Cassiopeia
RECTANGULAR PRISM SONG

Rectangular prism, length, width,

height
Multiply them all, with all your
might!
Cubic centimeters, small and neat
Volume's measure, oh so sweet!
Cubic meters, big and grand
Volume's answer, close at hand!
FINDING THE VOLUME OF
RECTANGULAR PRISM USING
CU.CM AND CU.M
At the end of the lesson, the student will be able
to:

A.Define rectangular prism and identify it's key

features (length, width, height)
B. Calculte the volume of rectangular prism using
the formula V=L×W×H in both cu.cm and cu.m
C. Apply the importance of rectangular prism real-
life scenario
WHAT IS RECTANGULAR
PRISM:
Is a three-dimensional shape with six rectangular
faces. Each face is a rectangle and meet at right
angle.

Volume of Rectangular
Prism

ormula: Volume = Length × Width × Height

V=L×W
2 Units:

- Cubic Centimeter (cu.cm or cm³) :

Used for smaller objects like shoebox,
etc.

- Cubic Meter (cu.m or m³): Used for

Example 1: Using Cubic Centimeters (cu. cm)

We have a rectangular prism shoebox that's 5 cm long,

3 cm wide, and 2 cm high. To find its volume:

Identify the dimensions: l = 5 cm, w = 3 cm, h = 2 cm

Apply the formula: V = 5 cm × 3 cm × 2 cm = 30 cu.

cm

Therefore, the volume of the shoebox is 30 cubic

Example 2: Using Cubic Meters (cu. m)

We have a storage container measures 2 meters long,

1.5 meters wide, and 1 meter high.

Identify the dimensions: l = 2 m, w = 1.5 m, h = 1 m

Apply the formula: V = 2 m × 1.5 m × 1 m = 3 cu. m

Therefore, the volume of the storage container is 3

cubic meters.
