Abstract
• Wastewater management is a critical aspect of industrial processes, ensuring compliance with environmental
standards and promoting sustainable practices.
• This work focuses on the integration of sensor technologies, specifically pH, temperature, and turbidity sensors,
along with an Arduino-based controller, to monitor and manage wastewater parameters in industrial settings.
• The pH sensor provides real-time measurement of the acidity or alkalinity of the wastewater, aiding in the
identification of potential environmental risks and the need for corrective actions.
• Temperature sensors offer insights into the thermal conditions of the wastewater, crucial for understanding
biological and chemical reactions. Turbidity sensors measure the cloudiness or haziness caused by suspended
particles, providing information on water quality.
• The Arduino controller serves as the central processing unit, collecting data from the sensors and implementing
control strategies. By leveraging this sensor-controller system, industries can optimize wastewater treatment
processes, minimize the discharge of harmful substances, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• The proposed solution offers a cost-effective and scalable approach to wastewater management, allowing industries
to meet regulatory requirements, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to sustainable development.
• The integration of sensor technologies with an Arduino-based controller represents a step forward in smart
wastewater management, providing a foundation for future advancements in industrial environmental stewardship.
Introduction
• Water is a fundamental resource for various industrial processes, playing
a pivotal role in manufacturing, production, and overall industrial
operations.
• However, the use and disposal of water in industries generate wastewater
that often contains contaminants and pollutants.
• Effective management of industrial wastewater is crucial not only to
meet environmental regulations but also to ensure sustainable practices
and minimize adverse impacts on ecosystems.
• Wastewater from industries typically contains a variety of pollutants such
as chemicals, heavy metals, and organic substances that can pose
significant environmental risks if not treated properly.
Introduction
• The discharge of untreated or inadequately treated industrial
wastewater can lead to soil and water contamination, negatively
affecting aquatic life and public health.
• In response to growing environmental concerns, industries are
increasingly recognizing the importance of adopting advanced
technologies to monitor, treat, and manage their wastewater
effectively.
• This includes the integration of sensor technologies and automation
systems to provide real-time insights into the quality and
characteristics of industrial wastewater.

EC
• Electrocoagulation (EC) is a water purification system that uses
micro-electrical current to remove contaminants in aqueous
environments.

• It is an alternative to chemical coagulation (CC), which involves

delivering metallic coagulants to water through the electro-dissolution
of electrodes.
ATMEGA328
• ATMEGA 328 microcontroller, which acts as a processor for the Arduino board. Nearly it consists of
28 pins.

• From these 28 pins, the inputs can be controlled by transmitting and receiving the inputs to the
external device.

• It also consists of pulse width modulation (PWM). These PWM are used to transmit the entire signal
in a pulse modulation.

• Input power supply such as Vcc and Gnd are used. These IC mainly consists of analog and digital
inputs. These analog and digital inputs are used for the process of certain applications.
