Examples:

What Are Misplaced
Modifiers?
A **misplaced modifier** is a word, phrase, or
clause that is not placed next to the word it
modifies, causing confusion or a change in meaning.
Example:
- **Incorrect**: She served sandwiches to the
children **on paper plates**.
- **Correct**: She served sandwiches **on paper
plates** to the children.
Examples of Misplaced

**Incorrect**: The man walked toward the car
carrying a briefcase.
**Correct**: The man, carrying a briefcase, walked
toward the car.
Example:
- **Incorrect**: Walking to the park, the flowers
looked beautiful.
