IR Radiation

Infrared radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than visible light and shorter than microwaves, allowing visibility in the dark. It poses risks such as burns, heat stress, and eye damage, with common sources including solar radiation and electrical appliances. Protective measures include using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining safe distances from IR sources.

IR Radiation

IR Radiation
Define infrared radiation - It is a
type of electromagnetic radiation
with wavelengths longer than
visible light, but shorter than
microwaves. Infrared can be spotted
between microwaves and
ultraviolet. It enables a person to
"see" in the dark.

Energy - 2 x 10^-22 - 3 x 10^-19

Wavelength - 7 x 10^7 - 1 x 10^-3
Frequency - 3 x + 10^11 - 4 x 10^14
IR Radiation
he main risks of infrared radiation
includes: Burns, heat stress and eye
damage The common sources of
exposure include: Solar radiation,
fireplaces and wood stoves, space
heaters, electrical appliances and etc.
There are some technology, devices, or
behaviors that can be used for protection
or decreases the exposure from infrared
radiation. And these are: Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE), maintaining
safe distances from IR sources, wear
protective clothing and eye wear, and
etc.
IR Radiation
IR sensors detect temperature radiation emitted by objects.
When using IR sensors in the dark, it lets you see by colors.
The heat in a living thing converts into the color red and
non-living things can be seen as the color blue or violet-
indigo. COLOR Wavelength (mm) Violet-indigo 390-455 Blue
455-492 Green 492-577 Yellow 577-597 Orange 597-677
Red 622-700
