DEGREE OF COMPARISON
POSITIVE DEGRE
• When we do not compare a noun or an object with
anyone or anything, we usethe positive degree:

• Example: Cyrus is a tall boy.


• Mia has a long hair.
• Betty is smart.
He is cute.
COMPARATIVE DEGREE
• When we compare two persons, places, things or ideas,
we use the comparative degree. It is formed by adding
-er or by using more before and than after the
adjectives.
• Example: Vince is taller than Cyrus.
Mia’s hair is longer than her.
Betty is smarter then Carla.
Tom is cuter than Cyrus.
SUPERLATIVE DEGREE
When we compare more than two persons, places, things
or ideas, we use the superlative degree. It is formed by
adding -est or by adding most before the adjectives.
Examples. Ivan is the most tallest student in the class.
Karren has the longest hair in the park.
Kert is the smartest boy im the competition.
Chris is the cutest contestant in pageantry.
