Relative
Pronouns
01 Who
 Used for people (Subject)
 Replaces subject pronouns like I, she, he,
we, they

Example :
1. It was my husband who broke the car door.
2. The driver who ran the stop sign was
careless.
02 Whose
 Shows possession or relationship
Example :
1. This is the girl whose notes I borrowed.
2. Never go to a doctor whose office plants
have died.
3. I have a friend whose cat is annoying.

2. The book, which is now out of print, has all
the information you need.
05 That
 Used for people and things (typically
defining clauses)

Example :
1. The piggy bank that was on my desk got broken.
2. This is the book that everyone is talking about.
06 When
 Describe a noun that refers to a time

Example :
1. Grandma remembers a time when radio shows
were popular.
2. She remembered the day when they met.
07 Where
 Describe a nouns that refer to a place.

Example :
1. The office where I work is in this building.
2. I want to visit the island where my grandma was
born.
