What is the need of Computer Networks?

• computer networks serve a variety of crucial needs in today's interconnected

world.
• computer networks are indispensable for enabling efficient communication,
resource sharing, and access to information in our modern society.
• They have revolutionized the way we work, communicate, and interact with the
world, making them a fundamental aspect of our daily lives and the backbone of
the digital age.
• Computer networks allow multiple users to share hardware resources, efficient
communication, facilitate centralized data storage and management, remote
access to resources, security challenges etc
• Toovercome these obstacles in the effective usage of information technology,
computer networks are necessary.
Computer Networks
A computer network, often simply
referred to as a network, is a collection
of autonomous computers and devices
interconnected by communications
channels.
These communication channels
facilitate communication and allows
sharing of resources and exchange of
information among interconnected
devices.
Communication or Telephone
Networks
Internet
The Internet is the biggest world-wide communication network
of computers. The Internet has millions of smaller domestic,
academic, business, and government networks, which together
carry many different kinds of information.
