THE SLOPE OF A LINE
The slope of a line is the measure of the steepness of a
line with respect to the horizontal axis. It is the number of
units that a line vertically rises (or falls) for every horizontal
change in from left to right.

Basically, it is the ratio of a net change in , or the increment

The slope is define by the formula:


Example 1. Find the slope of the line that passes through

If the slope is POSITIVE, the line rises from left to
