APPLICATION

SOFTWARE
 Software application allows the user to produce digital products
such as a presentation or image. They include:

1. Office productivity software: Is any application that can carry out


work related tasks. This includes
 Word processing. Word processing software lets a user create
documents that mostly include words but also some images.
Word processor can create letters, reports essays and books
 Desktop Publishing (DTP). This software has similar features to
those in word processing software. The difference is the way in
which the software allows users to work with complicated page
layouts. Example of DTP software is adobe.
 Spreadsheet. Spreadsheet applications are used to do calculations.
Users can use and create formulae and functions to perform automatic
calculations on values that can be entered and changed later.

 Database. Database management systems are used to enter, edit and


search data. Some systems can also produce reports that dynamically
display real time changes to data as it updates.
2.Web authoring software: This software lets users create web pages
that include texts and images.
3.Image editing software: Lets users create and change bitmap images
or vector images. There are two types of image editors.
• Graphic editors’ software: It allows users to create or edit vector
images.
• Image editors’ software: It allow users to edit and enhance bitmap
images
4.Sound editing software: Sound editing software allow users to edit
audio files or join together different audio files
5.Presentation software: Allow users to create engaging multimedia content
such as Text, images, animations and videos.

6.Control software: They are used to make something in a physical


environment. It’s mainly used to automate movement of control devices or
actuators e.g. motors

7.Project management software: They are used to help and track individual
tasks in a project.

8.Communication software: Provides remote access to systems and allows


users to contact people using the internet. It can be used to send files and
messages as text, images, audio and video. They include; Web browsers,
email, mms SMS and instant messaging.
