2 Introduction
 AIMS is one of the recognised training and
development institute with specialisation in
Telecommunications and Network engineering.
 As they are expanding their building to another floor
and want to have WLAN established in that area
which will improve the quality service with greater
benefits and would help them to upgrade their
network design in the future according to the needs.
3 Project overview
 A WLAN set up will be designed for the leased
additional floor in the building. In regard to the current
configuration of the network, the new design will be
made with the wireless network.
 Some of the changes will be made in regard to the
expansion required in the future by the organisation.
The main motive of establishing a wireless LAN to
have a better network coverage.
 The whole process will go through different stages
including the initiation phase to the completion phase.

11 Diagnostic tools and measurement tools
related to the site survey

 Netspot and Tamograph are used for the site survey

and the calibration of the testing tools.
 Wi-Fi signals are calibrated through Net Spot.
 The Test Equipment:
 Net spot is being used to diagnose the Wi-Fi signals around and
compare them to each other by knowing the minimum and
maximum strength of the signals.
 Calibration of test equipment by Tamograph
 GPS calibration (reference points are needed) or the standard
calibration (distance between the two points of the map are
needed) which could be done by the Tamograph.

There are approximately 17 walls, which are made
of concrete and some of them are made of glass
